Prop question

Creative RE Purchasing
Just posted on the other site but here's a cut and paste:
Solas or Skat 13/16, 13/17 or 13/18 cutback seem to be the preference for low end freestyle punch with the pipe and head. Make sure you have a deep grate to compliment the prop.

I have a B, head, and dual 44's and I am running a 13/16 Solas Concord Cut back. I'm currently running Protec Top Loader which isn't as deep as say a Worx201 (deepest Worx available) and I feel cavitation some times. I have a Worx 201 at the house, I just haven't slapped it on to do any testing. I hope it'll help with that cavitation I am feeling. I mainly feel it in deep white wash.

The only way to get rid of cavitation in deap white wash is a mag pump or TBM cone w/ c75 mag prop to my knowledge.

Forgot to mention I have a WW cone too.

I think the bored nosel and ww cone add to white was cavitation. IMO, and here is my reasoning. I have a 140mm mag pump that hooked killer in White wash and everywhere else. I traded it for a 144 mag that is also awesome, but does not hook as well in white wash (still WAY better than any non mag set up) but I think more pump / venturi volume creates less hook up in white wash. I traded for weight reasons and I am very happy w/ the 144 mag and would trade it for nothing but this is the only down fall I have seen.

The 10/18 impeller is old-school, but it's a great impeller. I ran it between damaging my Concord and buying a Swirl. Slightly less bottom end than my Concord, way better topend.

I still wanna try it in my ski, but does anyone here run a skat magnum pump modified by legdrag to fit in a yamaha stock pump?

U mean a mag prop or mag pump? The props are 144mm I dont believe they need modified to run in stock pump. I have a C75 13/18 mag prop in my 144mag pump and it uses OEM wear ring. It may need cut back some just like the rest.

I meant PROP, sorry about that, and yea I meant the cutback, how do you like it to a 13/16 cutback? For a 200 lb guy?

I've heard from a few reliable sources that legdrag's magnum impeller is the best for low end snap and has the highest water velocity at top end. I keep hearing it here and there but not many people acknowledge/know/have tried it. I'm going to try it if I ever get some spending cash, as I'm sure the 14.5/18.5 in my ski isnt the best prop for a 200 lb guy.

Egor, your spending all that cash and its not ported!?

of course, im not there yet, im still buying everything, but chucky at team
scream will be doing the internal work. also going to run a tbm pump too.:arms:

so the wider the numbers of the pitch mean better bottom end, but you also
need to take in consideration for hp and pump size to allow it to work together

No, use to pitch's were just straight pitch (550 Days) 15 degree 15.5, 16,16.5 etc etc the 15 would work good on a stock ski or if you wanted more bottom, the 15.5-16 was more for "Limited Setups" 17 for more built motors and top speeds (Note, based on 550/650 prop pitch's)
When the variable pitch props came out they kinda work the same way. But they are not determined by the amount of spread, but the beginning pitch and the final pitch ie 13-17. Every Prop design is different, pitch number from one mfg does not necissarilly match up to another brand.

for instance

Stock SJ 12-17 Limited 14-18 Mod 15-19 for a SKAT Slimline
Stock SJ 14-18 Limited 14.5-18.7 Mod 15-21 for a Solas

each mfg props will do the same thing, they just have different designs.

when it comes to freestyle they get even more picky, why? because every setup is different, SKI "A" may need a 13-15 to make it work, while SKI "B" will need a 13-17.........etc etc

Best bet is to call Dave at IMPROS and tell him what you want and he can hook you up.
