I like the X-metal better as well. Rode a ski with a RRP last weekend. It did not have any pole spring and that is one heavy mofo

I hope the Xmetal is yours. I too love how slim the Xmetal is. I had looked at the more fancy handpoles but if I ever break my OEM I will be going with Xmetal.

the RRP looks so much better on these new style hulls IMO, I used to be all about the sleak designs too but when the pole sits above the nose and hood the RRP is the only way to go. They are heavier but they dont feel heavy on the boat for some reason.

Reinforced / lowered OEM is definately a cheaper route and done right they seem to hold up well. And replacing them is CHEAP and QUICK if they do happen to break.
