Who has used this and how do you apply if you do not have the High $$$ tool/gun? I would like to use this to attach the top deck to the bottom deck on my REV, but I keep hearing that it must be applied with an air operated gun that the cartages go into? Has any one found another (CHEAPER) way? This is as far as I can tell the best option as far as material to use but cannot figure out how to apply. I know this can be done w/ epoxy and filler, but I would prefer to be safe as I am concerned about the epoxy not flexing enough. 5200 fast set would be another choice and it would probably work just fine, but something in the back of my head says "DONT DO IT":rolleyes:.
If some one has bought the tool/gun and does not use it regularly I would be most appreciative if I could rent it for a week end.

I think it would do just fine. It holds pump shoes in and that's a ton of force pulling down.

With the amount of surface contact, I'd do 5200 in a heartbeat, but the 7 day cure version for sure because it's quite a bit stronger than the fast cure.

No way you could use the 7 day cure stuff as it is like syrup consistance and it would just drain out. I think the 5200 would do it as well, but I would feel like I was caulking my hull together:dunno: Dont know why, I just feel funny using it. I am also hesitant to lay glass against the 5200 in places where I would reinforce.
PLexus is the best option ( I think we all agree there) but how to apply is my issue. From what I have read and seen it is a THICK substance that is hard as he!! to dispence from a manual gun of any kind. I need to borrow or rent an air dispensor gun if I am to use the Plexus the way it looks.

There are multiple different types of plexus, I would most likeley use AO420 or MA 830 both of which would require some sort of dispensor to apply. I have been using this sight to decide what to use and if you look further into it you will find the HIGH $$$ despensing apparatus required:banghead:

I was really hoping to find some one on here that has used this stuff in simular aplications.

You might look at Loctite H3151 Speedbonder. I used it here at work after a Loctite rep recommended it for an ABS-metal application. The tensile/shear #'s look comparable, and it's tube-dispensible. It also has a longer working time, around 30-45 minutes.

H3101 also, they are methacrylates just like the Plexus you're looking at, and much easier to get hold of. I'd contact Loctite and get a local dealer's name.

I have a manual that you could pay shipping to use in a timely fashion. I have a few air guns, I'll give up the manual for a week. You don't have to use air.
