Pipes for a 66e?

What pipes will fit the 66e motor and still work in a stand up? I know WDK makes a pipe but I'm guessing the only way I'll get one of those is used...which is fine but obviously they aren't growing on trees either.

Do anyone else make a pipe that fits or would the stock pipe work once the engine has been placed vertically in the hull?

2 weeks is all it took us to FAIL.

The original goal was to make an adapter plate that would allow us to bolt a B-pipe to a 66E. Kind of like the Octane adapter plate. It was going great until we tried to install the chamber.

With the upright mount kit it puts the front corner of the cases right into the space where the chamber wants to sit. There is no way I can see around it without a HUGE destructive dent in the chamber.

There is potentially more bad news...And BRANDON PLEASE take this an constructive and not anything else...From the pics I have seen Brandon's B-pipe manifold will suffer the same problems. There is one pic I have seen with a head pipe and chamber installed on a 66E using Brandon's manifold. I could not figure out how they got it to fit until I realized it was in either an Octane or Envy hull. Both are wider than a SJ hull.

The current plan is to use a dry pipe like the Type 4 or a Speedworx. I wanted to just go with the adapter plate idea but Raisinbread quickly showed me that shoves the dry pipe manifold into the hull. So we are hoping to go with a combination of THIN adapter plate and a modified manifold.

I do not know time or cost yet. Raisinbread is very motivated, but is also busy helping us with the Lemons race car.

The good news is that the dry pipe adapter/manifold setup looks like it will clear the stock PV's and PV pulley. I haven't tried it yet with the gas power valves. That looks like it won't clear.

Brandon's setup (only from the pics I've seen) will probably not work with the stock PV's so expect to either eliminate them or buy gas operated valves.

Thanks for the update.

I'm glad I have 5-6months till ride seasons starts again to figure out what pipe will be going on this motor. On the bright side I have a wider hull so Brandon's hopefully will work.

little more progress, i sold my big bore cylinders so stockers are on now, but need to test them anyways. Manifold is actually for a different pipe so I had to have some welding done to it to fit fpp headpipe, also having a spacer plate made to move the manifold out to clear the powervalve shafts, might be able to run the gas valves later, for now it will be the electric servo ones for first test. Manifold should be completely ready to install next week

Yeah he's definitely on my list for case modification if I go the 66e route. Just need to figure out what to do about a pipe.

Screw fancy exhaust pipes and manifolds... Just run a straight pipe right out the side! :sneaky:
