Pics of my 760 cylinder Ported by Riva

I bought this off a board memebr here. It's a 760 cylinder, ported by Riva. It's bored .25mm over. It included one good piston too.

Here is the "good" piston:

When I complained about the condition of the cylinder the seller said "that cylinder is not scored. those are water marks from water intrusion and every cylinder has them."

Haha. That is some HARD water that scratches a cylinder. You can feel the scratches with your fingernail.

FWIW...that is "fairly normal" for an engine with heavy water ingestion and/or loose piston clearances (aka a freestyle engine) That's piston slap.

You should be able to run it like that. The scratches are below the rings.

I think it's a real 760 because it has the larger holes for the exhaust manifold, but I have a set of 62T cases here and it slips right in...but they may have been modified? I don't know their history. The sleeves do look pretty thin, so maybe it is a bored 701? The outside of the cylinder is a greenish color, not black like my 62T cases.

What abot the cylender? JFYI, always count on a bore when buying a cylender w/ 1 piston. Why do you think there is only one piston?

Yeah, I'll know better next time.

I was going to get a Pro-Tec head (because I like the way they look over the ADA), but since I am buying a top end kit now and boring I think I'll just get my stock 701 head modded to run ~170psi on the 760. Who can I send it to for that (beside Group K)?

No offense taken. Well, the head and the cylinder are seperate parts, and I am sure that most people don't rework their head when they bore their 701 a little, but for a big change like going 760 then I am sure the squish needs to be reworked, plus I'd like more compression than just a stock head. I know WHAT needs to be done, I just don't know WHO I can trust to do it right. That make more sense?

I gotcha. I've always heard that group k does good stock head work...
