Can if be done successfully, has anyone done it? I know it is not prefered, but the ski has such a nice turf job on it. Tray is turfed and so are the rails and pole crash pad on the hood.

just tape the turf off and take your time while doing. Also, don't ever over tape onto the body, if you can't get it perfect you are better off painting some of the turf than missing some of the body...

I would make sure to use good 3M tape and do the edges w/ 1" then use newspaper to cover the big stuff.. I would get some 2" tape too...

I did it to my ski also and it really doesnt make a difference as long as you do the tape real good .I think my paint came out excellent .

Even if you get a little paint on the edges of the turf you'll be able to sand it off the turf later.

wow, thanks guys, that is what i thought, just needed some support from someone who had done it before. Superjetdave works at a very good body shop and the paint guy there said he would shoot it no problem. I will just do all the prep and pay just for the paint...and an hour of the guys time (includes cleanup).

cool, also, if you get some paint on the turf, you can also just paint over the spot w/ black spray paint, (if the turf is black)
Another way, You can use a little bit of lacquer thinner to remove the paint. Paint/clear won't harden fully for a few weeks and Lacquer thinner will take it right off... just be careful

I have my f1 pro tall taped up right now......if I can get there in time going to get paint tonite and spray away....
