what sd card are you using, does it matter if we get a more expensive one or not.

let me know how it works on the bow eye, that is a great place.

it will definitely see lots of water in that location.

I would think the best view would be on the helmet, so when you turn to look at friends while riding.... and see what the rider sees while rippin'

I got the more expensive one... It has to be 10mb x-fer rate, not 3mb

they have 20mb ones that are even more. the dude said he was up on this particular cam and said the 10mb was fast enough for it, while the 3mb was not... It was 35$ or so... mine was 75$

you would think, but it's completely unwatchable that way... I have seen way too many vids that make me want to puke from the movement. Hard mounting is all I can handle... Head mounting would be an editing nightmare IMO..

My mount will have a swiveling neck to point any direction...

can you imaging it on the nose facing forward while appoaching a 8ft wave to flip???? I can't wait

thats sweet, I wanted to try mounting mine like that but never got around to it last year.

I was also thinking it would be a sweet shot if you mounted it on the nose looking at the rider and the handlepole

Came up with this so far, it may be adaptable. Rod holder, they have several types and are adjustable. I don't have my cam yet (B/O), so someone may have to check the sizing.

be interesting to see how long these last in surf conditions with the mods listed above, also would be nice if they accept the lanc remote,to start stop recording.

I agree with Nick, having it head mounted and just editing through over a hour straight ride would suck, but having it head mounted and having a hand mounted wired lanc like the one I use, makes for much better on the go editing, that way when you get to make the finall edit on the comp, there is very little to go through.

Those perko style rod holders are a good jab but they wont hold the cam in unless you tape it in or jerry rig it. They are only adjustable in the fact that you can mount them in a number of angles or positions to the bar you do it on.

How about this type, you could clamp the camera in and have access.

That definitely looks better, but how wide is the cam? Most rodholders are only about an inch and a half diameter.

to answer a few questions before people start getting stupid..

it doesn't wobble and is so sturdy that I can pick the ski up w/ it.
I did 2 backflips several rolls a can can, a nothing and a couple re-entrys w/ this setup... Both backflips were underrotated, so you will get a good look at the abuse this mount will take... I went straigt in... I thought it was gonna get the treatment the first time out. AND... no it doesn't bother me being there... I'm not afraid of hitting it.
