I am not gonna bag on these guys for making videos. I make them myself, but sell them for cost $8 plus shipping. Once I break even, they are free. However, I don't try to push them off as pro videos. They are mostly my friends and I screwing around on Lake Erie. This fall I will make Jet Tards IV. I will, once again, send a bunch out free to get some respected people from the boards to post reviews and then will sell them cheap until I break even.

I, say, keep making videos, but tell it like it is. You and a bunch of your friends riding and screwing around.

Burtka is 1-time IJSBA National Amateur Champ.

His other titles are from the Liquid X tour, the Great Lakes Freestyle Tour, and whatever other titles they have made up over the years.

The Great Lakes Tour turned into the Liquid X tour, there were some great ideas, some not so great, it was horribly managed since the owners (Brock/Burtka/Niksic) were competitors too, they didn't have the sponsorship they said they did, judging was terrible, etc etc.

The first Twangled was not so great, but it was a first. So, Burtka remastered it and released Twangled Remastered, a little better, and I believe all footage of me was removed because I had been blackballed by them.

I'm not sure of the sequence after that, but the Twangled View of Havasu series is composed of mostly footage filmed NOT IN HAVASU, so I'm not sure why they name them that way, or why they continue the Twangled word usage since nobody understands it.

Last year I came home one day to be greeted by a nasty voicemail from Greg Brock about something, something, something, I don't even remember what it was honestly.

Anyway, I wouldn't worry about them representing our sport, because they don't, and hardly anyone sees their videos anyway. I think most people see right through the facade they try to create. Unfortunately, freestyle and racing are dieing in the US (seems like it to me), but freeride type events are picking up. I wish the Twangled group would just come out and ride and be normal people, they're nice guys when they do that and don't try to be these 'professional jetskiers/professional extreme sports video producers'.

That's my take, and I'm done.

Yes, its all clear now!!! I see how this thread helped to better the sport:rolleyes: I'm hoping this is some reverse psychology thing or something. I really dont see how one profesional in any industry bagging on another helps the industry as a whole. And just in case anybody thinks they speek for me, They dont. I'm with SFL on this one. Its all your oppinion Ronny so please state it as such. It is possible people dont like your work either. I personally hope they make a thousand more videos. I also hope everbody with a camera does the same. Thats the way to promote the sport not some cold war propaganda(they only need to know what we want them to know) video suppresion stuff:sneaky:

By the way. In my oppinion I think Ronnymacs photography work and the work of Nascency cinema is top notch and is far better than Det-chi videos work. but it is just my oppinion.

I dont hate the twangled crew. They have a huge love for the sport and bring lots of footage to the screen. What I do not like is the fact that they consider themselves professional cinema videographers and editors when they are amatuer at best. I agree people should be compensated for time and materials like DJ said, but paying 25 bucks for home videos is a bit much. If your going to make a professional dvd, at least have a layout and structure to it.

So what makes you a pro or an amatuer? Spielberg and Lucas would say that everybody here is amatuers. People went and bought the Blair witch project didnt they? If you dont like it then dont buy it. Everybody is entitled to there opinion. C'mon I would rather watch a twangled video than Trading Spaces any day.
