FX-1 Oil leaking out of Factory Head Pipe bolt

Can't figure this one out. I inspected the gasket, inspected the face of the manifold and head pipe, I torqued the bolts down to spec and I still have one bolt that seems to seep oil, gas mixture from the head pipe bolt after I run it. Anyone ever have this happen?

most likely your gasket is crushed. Try a new gasket. May have a slight crack in the headpipe that you cannot see.

Tried the gasket route with same result. I'll have to pull it again and really inspect to see if I can see a hairline crack in there. Wonder if that can be fixed. Really not in the mood to buy a new head pipe and have bored out. thanks for the input

If cracked an a place where it can be easily accessed just use JBweld ot a TIG welder if you have access to one. be sure to stop the crack by drilling a hole at the tip of the crack before attempting a repair.

its fractured and good luck getting Factory pipe to warranty, the b-tch told me the warranty was void because it appears to have been ridden in saltwater LOL, Whatever, Anyone that has see my skis knows my shiot is clean and crust free, They are FOS!!!!!

Yup found the hairline crack. It reachable with a tig I believe so hopefully it can be repaired. It's around the bolt up flange and up into the head pipe but not as far up to where the water jacket starts. Not sure how the hell that happened.

called factory pipe and they pretty much assured me they would not cover it. They said they have warranted maybe 1 or 2 head pipes in the last 18 years due to cracks.

Yeah, FP told me they tried to weld min but crushed it in the vise when they chucked it up LOL, Then sold me a new one for $200 shipped and remember I paid freight to them on the one I sent in for warrantee. They are a JOKE on the warranty. Looks like you rode yours in salt water too, lol.

Yeah that salt really creates some mean cracks. I don't have the patience to battle this. I ordered a new one, they got me over a barrel with no where else to turn. What are you gonna do, I just want to ride.

factory pipe sucks a big one!! mine cracked just like that one. no warranty. so much for lifetime warranty. someone need to copy there pipes.

They know they have us and just nut on us every chance they get! I mean REALLY $700 for a pipe for a ski? They are using 20 year old cast molds and stamping dies. When do they figure those are paid for? Alternative though is the Power Factory for what like $1300 LOL, We are some morons hahaha! But what ya gonna do but feed the addiction .

yup. took away dealer discounts a few years back. i wish there was another pipe that worked as well.

I have been saying this all long. There are a few other parts and businesses that sell said parts that are gouging the chit out of people. But it is what it is...... any type of motor sports is expensive.
