pardon the side flop reentry attempt at the end

Andrew, that's why I cut that landing short on the video... So nobody would notice the side flop. :fing02:

Everyone was ripping that day. Didn't get the best footage that day unfortunately. Matt's b-rolls were huge (especially for forgetting his helmet that day), and John and Andrew were rippin lips all day.

Still learning my distance with my camera. More footage is to come soon.

how much video can you shoot in one session??

Two AAA batteries give you about 3-4 hours of use (depending on water temp). The size of your SD card limits your footage time. I have a 2 gig card and get 1:04 hrs on it. I've heard that it can fit bigger cards, but don't have one yet to verify.

It gets about a solid tank of gas for Oceanside (actual riding time, not to and from the harbor).

I like it a lot. I don't have to mess with it. I take my helmet off to see if it is running, then put it back on and forget about it. I can simply look down after a big landing and see if the camera is still there. I don't have to reach and feel for it like most helmet cams.

Definitely worth getting if you are looking for a light weight, no hassle video and still camera. Plus, the company is located in San Diego. Very nice for warranty work and repairs. Their Customer Service department is top notch. A bunch of local surfers who know how the camera is supposed to work!!!

Yeah Jakes camera is the shiz nit. Here's another clip from about 3 months ago. I was filming with Jakes camera and got a bunch of Jakes rolls. I also got Ross doing a few rolls and a couple of flairs and I did a few rolls to get a (camera) first person perspective. The camera takes great quality stuff (which doesn't transfer well through youtube) and its only like $140.00. Much better than Matt Smiths old helmet cam.

so the gopro cams really are waterproof...thats sick! how deep have you gone with it?

vid looks good for sure...nice job!

Those waves look PERFECT! I am so used to riding lake Michigan......I can't believe how well spaced out those waves are.
When I ride head high waves I need to be back on the gas the second I land a roll or I will be pumelled by the next wave.

Cool Vids. And that Camera is kick arse !
I had one of those scientific ones, and threw a couple backs and barrels
and lost it in the atlantic ! :banghead: I mounted the crap out of it too !

How is the weight on the chin of the helmet ?
Have you taken a really good impact ? and does it stay there good ?
Is the plastic around the camera mounted to the velcro ?

Thank you !
