No X-games and why Jetskiing won't Make T.V.

you have it twisted bro. its seems crazy that you would ride for any other reason than for the pure pleasure of it. including the days when shti breaks. you have some issues for sure if you ride to impress someone else. I think if you do that eventually it becomes a chore and loses its lustre.

when its just you and the waves and you are "in the zone" that is what its all about.

Oh no i LOVE riding, for the fun of it. I go out every weekend my ski is working and ride in my cove alone for hours. And i love it, i love the rush of landing that new trick for launching a huge air off a boat wake. But i do enjoy competing occasionaly for the glory of it but id never choose that over the fun side of it. Plus i always lose so there isnt much glory involved so in the end its all about the fun. And thats the only thing that does keep me going when breaks. Which seems to be happening alot lately :banghead:

Freerides would make for much better film then most surf events. Tricks are way bigger usually and there is way more carnage it seems. Ive never surfed, but ive always wanted too. Yet when ever surfing come on tv i usually watch a few minutes before changing channels. Its just all the same. Yet in our world, we see flips, rolls, stabs, subs, no handers, slides, plus the bling factor sets in when you see CF hulls with 1000cc motors vs a nice board. I dont think jet skiing needs to be in the x games but a little air time would be nice. Id love to have a few more people to ride with around here.

I love the fact that stand ups aren't "trendy" and that everyone doesn't want to go get one. I like that it's just a few of us out there riding while everyone else is thinking "look at those old school skis" while they stare in envy and ride away on their couches.

Airtime would be cool only because I want to watch what others are doing so I can learn from them.

Gotta love those couchers!
I was following my dads boat jumping wake a little ways back when i couple couches came to do the same. I could get higher off flat water then they can off wake.
I love all the crazy looks i get at the lake though. So many people just watch... I just wish i was as good as some of you guys to put on a real show

Most riders at a freeride are there to show off. Theres always a lot of skis with bright paint and no mufflers being launched 30 feet in the air right in front of the crowd. Everyone look at me.

Well....yeah.....if it's competition yeah sure makes sense, you want to impress judges and the crowd, you must be seen...... in order to win.

But that is it.....any other day......you ride for yourself.
