Hey, hey, hey! Don't me come there and put the smack down on you! We DO NOT eat pets!

However, rabbit meat is quite tasty! And Cavies were originally domesticated for their meat, too.

Piggies and bunnies have the cutest noses, don't they?

hell yeah... my brother has a Flop that fetches... Flops are so cool..

flops have great personalities from what I have seen... Sharon, are flops generally that way???

Yeah, pretty nice, but most bunnies are pretty nice unless they've had bad things happen to them. They can also sport lots of attitude, too, especially if they are not neutered/spayed. Cavies are easier to work with as patients (less likely to bite), but don't tend to be as sweet and cuddly as bunnies. They take a little more work when they're very young to make them as tame as bunnies.

If a cavy bites you, you've really p!ssed it off! They do little love nips (never break the skin) but an actual, hurt you bite that breaks the skin - I've never gotten. One of my techs did once, she was syringe feeding a sick cavy and the cavy was DONE with being messed with. More experienced techs know when to stop pushing. I don't ever want cavies so stressed that they feel the need to bite hard.

Yeah... Ginger and Scooter are pretty tame, but will still run from anyone that comes near them, even my wife... Once you have them in you lap or on your chest they never try to leave... Scooter is funny how he likes to climb up to the top of you shoulder and push on your neck w/ his nose... Ginger likes to snuggle her head right up under your chin.... Ginger and Scooter have never bitten anyone either... No one better get em to that point...

Exactly. Cavies usually won't come to be picked up and cuddled like bunnies will. But if a cavy's tame enough, they definitely enjoy snuggling.

I've tried to figure out if they know their names by calling them... not sure they are smart enough or able to distinguish verbal things... I know they hear and distinguish sounds, cause the refrigerator and any plastic bag will get them squeaking like crazy... What's your understanding of their intellect???

my tried and true method for nose stab, is bunny hope twice, full throttle, rock the bars from one extreme to the other, lift your feet, sprain your wrist.

works eveytime.

Yeah--we should be coming by this weekend at the latest to get it. If for some reason we can't get down there--I'll have Cara come get it. :afro:

Back to topic - sort of - Brapbaby you can't drive a trailer from Holts Summit to where you live, empty - a nice SJ, blaster or 550 would look soooo nice on it....:biggrin::biggrin:
