new super jet hood seal damaged ..warrenty?

hey guys new to the site and to standups...i just purchased a new superjet 09 been sittting in the show room for a year and i took it out and notice some water getting into it i looked at the hood seal and a couple parts r folded over into he seal its not terrible but it is botherying me bein a new ski ....do you think the will warrenty the hood seal beins it was like that it looks like they had it folded under and had the hood clamped on in the show room wrong

warranty maybe... but i used some foam weather stripping and 3m weather stripping adhesive. i got it from advanced auto parts and it's enough to do like 4 hoods and it was 20 bucks or so. it lasted very well last season. a hood strap would help too, this is the one i just bought and everyone is talking about. http://www.x-h2o.com/threads/69533-MANIAC-Strap-ratcheting-hood-strap-kit-35.

yea the hood seal is not ripped or anything just the out side lip is folded flat in a couple of spots and that is were the water is coming in

Try to get them to just get you the new seal under warranty (saves you 100.00) and then just replace it yourself.

btw...it's gonna take on water anyway! (through the air intakes) A bilge pump is a good start. I recommend a Rulemate 750. It will really keep the water out of your ski. The better you get riding, the more water you'll take in.

put the hood on, do not clamp it, pull the lip outside the lip. When it is correct, clamp down, put out in the sun.

yea wen it been clamped like that for over a year prolly "left over floor model " i doubt that will work and ive tried to pull it out wen its not latched it aint happenen im gonna take it to the deallership day after tomarrow beins tomarrow is ride day but dont want them to have my ski for more the a day or two ..i hope they will let me put it on my self...dont think its fair to spend 7k on a ski to have it leak were it shouldnt

the odds are they can't get you a hood seal in 2 days and I've NEVER seen an oem seal on the shelf ! ... but i wish you luck anyways ! .................. i could be wrong lol !
