New FPP

post some pics when you get a chance... us fx-1 guys are sic of seeing only sj pics

Will do. I'm out having some beers to unwind, so tomorrow after I get the tank and everything back in. Just gonna be a stock looking fx for this summer. Special fx, thanks for your info bout the pipe. I've been nervous it was an imposter pipe lol

So where do I get all the new jets and what not for the carb? Nothing came with the pipe. Can I get them local maybe like from a motorcycle shop being that mikuni carbs are used widespread. Thanks

The mikuni jets for ski are different than dirtbike and motorcycle jets. You have to go to a place that deals watercraft, or that does watercraft service.

Just a heads up, you didn't use wd-40 or any lube to get that chamber to slide inside the coupler, once everthing was in the hull, did you? If you did take it out and clean it off and put it on with soap and water, if not the chamber will slide off soon.

Any motorcycle shop can get you jets. Parts Unlimited has them. But they might not stock them. And marinas probably won't have the jets either. They just deal in stock applications, any after market stuff usually baffles the marina mechanics.

Yea I was thinking FP should have sent the jets.. No such luck, maybe I should call them! The only thing that was used during install in anyway was a little bit of windex. I only asked about motorcycle shops is because I know harley uses mikuni in some of their applications. So maybe my local yamaha dealership would have some?

Hey, I think I have the jet kit that comes for that pipe at the house. PM me your address and I will mail them to you.

on my pipe i used a tiny bit of silicone spary to get it on. i don't think it will come off. i can yank so hard on that sucker and it won't budge. i don't think that a little wd-40 is any different than the exhaust gunk that gets inside of the coupler after the first installation anyways.

If you take your coupler off you'll see no exhaust gets on the coupler where it seals on the pipe. You can pull as hard as you want, but if that chamber decides it wants to take a ride it'll go.

Listen to Ant on this one...NEVER use anything but real "soapy" water on that coupler or other exhaust hoses. That "contaminated" hose has a real good chance of coming apart...when you least expect it (been there...:banghead:).

Need to bump this.. So I have everything I was gonna install installed and I'm pretty sure the carb is rejetted and set right. I'm hoping to go try it out at the lake tomorrow. My question is on the FP headpipe to adjust I take a small allen wrench and turn the little screw in and out right? Not the big one that houses the small one? And FP instructions were kinda vague as to what settings to start with on an FX-1 so does anyone have a baseline? I have a stock engine besides the pipe, thanks
