Here we go again,,,

As we are all aware there are several people on here with the ambition of building new composite parts, hulls, etc.

As a group we keep tearing these people to shreads and running them off.
To the people doing all the bashing-how many composite parts have you made? Ever think of trying to build a hull? Do you have the time, the room, or the resources to try? I wonder if the very 1st hull Sergio built was the same quality as his products today?

From time to time somebody comes on here and tries to display their enthusiasm for our lil sport/hobby and gets killed by the fellow members, moderators, admin, owners here on the X. WTH ???

Maybe these guys are building crap-last I checked they are in the early stages of the learning curve. Cut em a lil slack. I am not tied to any of these guys in anyway, I simply appreciate their enthusiasm and their attention to the fact that alot of us are broke azz beyotches trying to play in a world of big boy toyz.

I did some name calling last night and was wrong for doing so, I called someone out today and was wrong for doing it. Apparently the forum rules only apply to some of the members. Don't really matter, it is what it is.

Long story short-if you don't have anything nice to say-take it to pm and QUIT dis-couraging the guys that are trying new things.

X3

I build grp boats and bespoke grp products for a living and have built many moulds over the years and it isnt an easy or cheap process what ever the scale of project. So if the products are a little rough or not perfect build quality as long as the price reflects this then we shouldnt knock them. Remember if its not what your looking for dont buy it , simple!

I realy like some of the short hulls that are being built at the mo and if i could find the time i would love to build my own!

if some people on the internet keep your from doing what you want to do then you probably don't have much ambition anyway...

I understand your point, but you have to be honest w/ people... the market is saturated... we don't need another person building sub par parts... we have enough of that.

Sure, I agree with you 100% but I also welcome the bashers, as long as they do it respectfully. Someone has got to be open for criticism and why not do it here. We have to be open for debates, we are all smart people. If you are going to come out and say something negative about something….PLEASE show that you are smart and tell us WHY you think so….instead of some dumb response like “you are stupid for doing so….blah, blah”….

Tell us why and please be articulate when doing so, that way we’ll know is your brain doing the talking and not your arse.

I am NOT the basher type but opinionated YES. You ask for opinions and I will give it to you, now if you don’t like it that is a different story.
We are all grown up adults here and the ones that are not, then ….GROW THE F UP!

And that is all I have to say about that….

p.s: this is NOT directed at you as it may sound like it, this is for EVERYONE.

Hate bashing is COMPLETELY different from constructive criticism... If you propose an idea that you think is good and 10 out of 12 people think it won't work or it sucks then you have two choices. You can either try to prove them wrong or you can give in/accept that the idea sucks and go back to the drawing board.

"Pioneers" are the people who are willing to try to prove others wrong. Less talk more action... The biggest problem I always see is so many people want to convince others that their new idea will be awesome before considering practicality and material costs.

Yes there are lots of hull/ parts builders and the market is saturated but there is nothing wrong with choice.
So for people with a large budget, they can afford the more exotic products and for people with smaller then they still have the option to build somthing a little differant and thats good for the sport too.

I never said there was anything wrong w/ choice... I welcome innovation, we just don't need more hokey parts builders splashing parts from the real companies in this sport.

since Darin chewed my ass for being a Drama Llama - I'll keep it short:

Gil, your post this morning about Nick's hood work had nothing to do with the thread about a Team Bill project. I'm sure that's why BK deleted it.

Team Bill, goose, winterX2 and grezzmky: They have some great ideas, excellent intentions and they need to work on their execution of them. Some people will buy budget-minded parts, some won't. If you ask for comments, don't complain about the comments you get whether they are good or bad. Good luck guys.

Now - I turn my Drama Llama out to pasture. Christmas is coming and I have to at least pretend to be good or Santa's leaving me a stocking full of coal.

peace out!

i dont think BK's rideplate had ANYTHING to do with the new hull- which leaves your previous statement pointless, regarding the "comments". that was uncalled for. There was a thread in the feedback section for bill and BK- where it belongs. although im sure your intentions were innocent:rolleyes:

l must say l see both sides on positive and negative feedback on a new idea. But somehow it turns into bashing. The guy that was thinking about makeing a new version of his TNT pipe got slamed on the X.How would you feel if you were him.Ya notice,he never came back.Probably has a great product, but some many so called "experts" just bashed the hell out of him.lt just pisses me off that you can't have an idea and put it out there with out having a bunch of peeps just beat you up!:smashfreakB: Bash On!

I think you guys are off base. if you find a guy who's main concern is to treat people right and try to find their niche everyone will jump aboard.

I have not seen 1 person bash Tom21 or his parts. I've also never seen Tom21 screw anyone. I think that is not a coincidence.

There was talk about some SN hoods. Some blasted saying NOBODY will pay more on a SN hood than what they spent on the entire ski. Others rejected that notion. Tom21 was the wise one to take all the feedback and come to the conclusion that a "hood on a budget" will be the best choice for SN owners.

I think that thread was a perfect example of "constructive criticism"....

It is my belief that if you're going to build something to compete with the best products out there, then you shouldn't really be asking for advice on how to build it. You should've done your research already and you should only be gauging interest and possibly be asking for recommendations to make it better. It is also my belief that if you claim results or price prior to building anything, then you're just asking to get ripped on. Ask for advice on how to build a one off for yourself and if it works great then consider selling it for other when you have hard evidence of success.
