SX/SXi/SXi Pro need help with 750sx

any TCW3 for me on the oil.

You need to start looking for a new starter. You can try to clean your starter but it seems like it's on it's way out.

The starter is on the exhaust side of the engine under the exhaust manifold. It is bolted on with two bolts in the back. The front of the start goes back in behind the flywheel.

I've never cleaned a starter. You can open it up and clean the brushes, but once you open them up they are prone to leaking making the problem worse. They sell rebuild kits for the starters also which I think are just new brushes. I believe you would have the same problem though keep the starter sealed.

I've bought the cheaper starters off of ebay and had good results with them. Many people will only go with the more expensive starters though because they believe the ebay ones are hit or miss.

Keep in mind that all the 650 and 750 starters are the same. You may be able to find a used one...

Buying an aftermarket bilge pump is a must and should be your very first modification to any new jetski. I use the 'Rule' 500 bilge pump. (see website below). After roughing up the hull, I used 5200 adhesive and it never came off, also wire a basic on/off switch (from Murrays Auto) to your handlebars. Easy job, but important. Overtons has the pump and the hull fitting.

any way you can show me a pic of where and how it is installed? Also what else do I need to buy with that bilge pump you showed me from the website other than the switch?

Buy 1 on/off switch from Murrays. I glued mine with 'Goop' (also from Murrays) to the start/stop switch, my thumb easily hits it. Tip-The start/stop switch is reversed and rotate so my body doesn't hit it while riding.

5200 adhesive, from any marine store, to glue bilge cage to hull, you need a 'thru hull' fitting from Overtons also.

I located the bilge under the mid shaft, to the left of the battery (batt and batt tray has to come out). I slightly relocated the tray more to the side of the boat and grinded down a corner a bit to fit bilge in this area.

You can see it peeking through, in one of the pics. Once bilge is in, run standard ACO tubing to 'hull fitting'.

You do have to cut a hole for the thru hole fitting for the electric bilge pump. Just get the appropriate size hole saw and have at it. Just make sure you double and triple check that is where you want the hole before you drill it. Make sure your hoses will run the way you want them to.

This ski does have a stock bilge. A siphon bilge. You do not want to use it's outlet for an electric bilge because it is just too small. Keep the stock bilge hooked up so that incase your electric bilge fails for any reason you'll be able to get some water out.

So do I have to make a new hole to put the thru hull or can I use the stock ones? Any way I can just replace the stock pump with new one?

Yes, new hole required. The hole is the last step. Check out the pic of my ski. The 'thru hull' fitting is just before the M, of my registration numbers. Yours may not be exactly on my location. Gotta figure it out for yourself.

Murrays Discount Auto or someplace similar. I pick up a 3 amp.

Most of my connections are not sealed and get wet all the time, have no problems.

fresh water, OK
salt water; not so much . . .
you can find all-weather ones for trailers at most parts stores.
fill the butt splices with silicon
and then heat shink

I will get to work on that and will post if i need help.

Another problem occured. I had my ski in the boathouse after riding for about an hour hitting the wakes from my friend's boat. I went into the boathouse today and the hull was full of water and the front of the ski was almost submerged. Where could the leak be coming from? If there is a crack in the hull, how can I fix it?

cracked hull = epoxy resin + fiberglass
really small crack- can use marine-tex or equivalent
may be coming in around the midshaft seal

Whats the easiest way to find the leak? also how do i fix it if its coming from the midshaft? my friends just told me when they pulled the ski out my whole front end was submerged underwater. When they opened the hood off, they whole motor area was filled with water. My motor will not start but it sounds like it is about to start. starts to start and it sounds like its getting stuck. Let me know what I can do to try and fix that. Thanks!

take the spark plugs out, flip the ski over and hit the start button until all of the water is out. clean the plugs and put them backin and try to start it. you may have to repeat this process a few times. after you get it running stick it back in the water and ride it for a few to help burn any left over water out. then leave it in the water and try to find the leak.
