after a few months of riding almost every weekend, its time to get back to the build. ive been riding all this time without turf on the railcaps and im tired of the bruises!
ive been wanting to re-turf and install tubbies for a long time but have been too lazy and had a hard time justifying the cost of tubbies. but at surfslam this weekend i broke down and bought a set of tubbies and a roll of turf.

so today i stripped off all the old (stock) turf and found.....

so my quick little re-turf and tubbie install is out the window. its time to do the poop that needs to happen.
new list:
reinforce tray and build my own foothold type notch(see wydopens build) so i can run my strap almost up against my gunwhale. need more room for my size 14 feet.
after talkin to my buddy im gonna send my stock 38s to harry klemm and have them bored and tuned. im also gonna talk to him about modding my stock ebox and possibly milling my head.
reinforce handpole with glass plus a layer of carbon
D-cut plate!!!!!!

thats it for now. im really bummed that my ski is gonna be down for so long but its gotta be done.

if I do the tubbies only now... I'll probably never get around to re enforcing...

you down to start grinding and prepping the inside? That way we can do the tubbies first, then re enforce the inside.

if you want..do you have enough glass???..id just do 1 layer of the 17oz nytex with mat..two in the nose...that should be fine..or if you have enough carbon we can put a layer of that too..thats a two day project just for the lay up though..if you are going that far might as well put in a scupper..i have a oneway you can use...

I have enough 1708 and carbon for one side I think. I'll have to buy some more carbon for the other side, and 1708 for the other side and nose.

I'll do the tray later this winter. I have something in mind. I don't want any pesky one way though.

I'll go by fiberglass hawaii tomorrow or friday after work.

don't know if I'll cut them out completely, but I'll defiantly make a notch in one for a toe pocket. I'd like to think that I'll have this ski forever, but wanna keep the fruit boots in for re-sale value.

Alright, highjack over. We'll take it to PM
