thanks:biggthumpup: cant wait to be riding again :woot:

You and me both. I cant wait to get back to Florida and finish shortening my handlepole and get back on the water.

You work with fiberglass a lot right? What would you recommend for bonding my pole back into the mount after I cut it down. Ive been told MarineTex works well. Whatcha think?

Sorry for the thread hijack.

So what kind of pump setup will you be running in the new ski? Trim or no trim?

splitting hairs on the pvc. how many people run the pvc tee for the fornt exhaust?

im sure it will be able to withstand the heat.

yamaslut and others have melted those front PVC tees.

I'm not sure how many people run or have run a PVC tee---maybe we should start a poll?!?

I agree that the exhaust will be cooler closer to the outlet, but would not choose to use PVC or ABS in one of my skis without further research.

probably like a 2 part fast set epoxy but grind the paint off the bracket for sure .
will be running all superjet driveline for now untill i get all my gp parts straightened out. should work very well for now i would like to do trim but whatever it takes to get me back in the water the fastest is how its going to go down. seaching for all that stuff takes time and im not going to let that hold me up from being on the water, its killing me already (I can always add bolt on performance)

only been seriously riding stand up a little over a year and decided to go with the hull b.c i am leaving for school and wont be able to finsh my SN untill i get out so i wanted something to throw together that was complete to use and have something solid to start with to build an 800platform. why spend 3500 on a RN when you can build a aftermarket for a lil more that has rev12 potential and is much lighter

how much was that hull, and what the he!! do u do to afford this crap?

i work my a$$ off, (mainly painting, and late model collision) like 16hr days everyday and i finally decided to treat myself for once:cool2:

With all due respect,

I prolly have a little bit more in my ski then you do your hull alone and it has more power then you would prolly even need at a year of riding. I'm on a unported cylinder by the way. Esp for surf riding where power or hulls isnt the key. Joe Kenny goes as high as he does on a stock hull w/ 760. Mike Serlin did a double BR on a stock hull and 61x cylinder i believe.

I just seems to be people spend so much money on hulls and insane motors when in reality they cant use it. Focus on the riding part wether then the cool parts. Just my 2 cents. I'll stay on my hull until it breaks or my BRs are maxxed out(which may never happen)

PS. I'm not bashing you, trying to offend you, or anything near that. I think you ski is gonna be kick ass and I'll even be bumming a demo ride in daytona as I'm slipping you shots:sneaky:

I'll be the first to admit that I am a rider not really worthy of having the ski I do, but you know what? Every time I get on my ski and feel the insane power (IMO at least) it makes I get a pretty big grin on my face.

There's nothing like the feeling of power and light weight launching you out of the water.

I concur, I love hopping on some of Tricky1's power boats and having fun. MY opinion isnt the law and I dont expect to change the mind of anyone, just talking shop.

I guess I look at skis diffrently. I came from skateboarding and BMX, its all about the tricks and such. I tend to forget about people who just wanna ride.

yeah.... my tee melted pretty hard when my pipe got clogged...

Not sure if what I was using was higher or lower quality PVC, or ABS...

I would assume Jeff would use the appropriate materials, since the rest of his projects are so well put together. He always seems to have very good attention to detail and excellent design skillz. I can't see him taking the time to do all he has done and then skimp on exhaust... It's just not his personality... (from what I have seen) I bet he knows what he's doing...

I've got mixed feelings about this. I'm always glad to see and ride nice ski's. but riding is where it's at.

Here is my first convo with sticky:

Stricky "nice blaster."
Me "thanks"
Sticky " I noticed most people with nice ski's can't ride for poop"

Sticky "what are those footstraps for?"
Me "looks"
Stricky "that's what I thought"

My lesson that day: learn to ride to get any respect because a nice ski won't buy you any.

Nice ski danny, now bring your skill level up to your ski.

nice looking ski

you will not have any problems with the exhaust or the inner hull plumbing. my 3 waterdawg hulls havent, neither has mossmans or skywalker's. The bottom of that xjet is chopped, which is durable(esp with hand laid reinforcement). However for extra money any of his hulls can be hand laid or for even more money they can be prepreg'd with stainless core.

I buy skis that perform far above my riding level. I don't have ocean waves to play on and small motors suck.

you wont necessarily know that the hoses or pipes are messed up or cracked or dryrotted or leaking when theyre buried in foam behind the bulkhead. until its waterlawgged.

nice looking ski!

ok, you got me you'll prolly only get 10-12 years out that stuff before it will dryrott. What do you do then? You pull out your footholds, dig out the foam and replace, then refoam. You'll need to refoam any ski long before you'd have to replace those.

you forgot about plain ol' leaking. the plastic in the exhaust will more than likely start leaking at the joints. those look like drainage fittings, to me, which do not really grab onto that much pipe.

but, youre right. theres no reason not to skimp on petty parts like cooling and exhaust tubes when you can easily refoam and replace them in a snap!
