FX-1 My FX1 with wide tray and other stuff

Finally getting a chance to post some pics of my ski. The tray measures 20" across inside, after riding an octane for years and then a hydrospace last year I needed more room then the 12" that the fx1 had. It also has a through hull drain, 650 kawi pump (big thanks to special fx for doing the bearing housing mod) sxr cut back prop about 8mm, trim from X2, b-pipe, groupe k ported, R&D rec head and round nose tank.
I really like the look of the flat black paint, but I know allot of people don't, it's dusty in the pics but the paint actually is nice in person. the b-pipe water routing is temporary until I get another pisser.

Here are some before shots

The foam was completely water logged and there were a couple cracks in the hull so I didn't mind cutting it up for my wide tray experiment.
Oh yeah put surfjetlouie tubbies on it also.

Looks good! Have you rode it yet? I love the way my ski hooks up with the 650 pump in it. Let us know how it rides.

Yeah it definitely does hook up great with the 650 pump, it has a slight tail wag or something at high speed, not quite sure why yet. It's like the back end wants to come around and pass the front of the ski always to the left?
It's not bad enough to pitch me off, just have to constantly correct with the steering..
Any ideas?

Good Job! :headbang: Do you have the X-2 nozzle w/ trim? If so, try some "trim up" it helps keeping things stable at speed. (I love my trim...even though its on a 144mm pump).

More pix!

The tubbies look like they're mounted pretty far back? Maybe set the "home position" of your trim a little higher?

Cool, will try adjusting the trim up a bit. Thanks!
Yes do have the x2 nozzle with trim.

The tray is so wide it offers great stability and comfort when both feet are in but when one foot happens to slip out or my weight is shifted over fully to one side, it's so far over the edge that it tips the ski over in a hurry.
Taking some getting used to but fun so far.

Also, not sure if its the round nose tank shifting the weight of the ski or my crappy fiberglass skills and I made one side thicker and heavier .....but the ski really leans to carb side now when sitting in the water.

I just bought a used R&D afterburner pump insert for even better hook up and a jetworks valve for my b-pipe stinger to make the low end snappier.
Can't wait.
