My buddy Mike and me went for a little New Year's ride today. The weather was nice initially, sun shine & 40 degrees. It turned dark and gray later, though. That's why some of the later pictures look like ass. (Wrong mode, 1600 ISO, etc).
Water was about 35-40, hard to say exactly.

First pic is my buddy Mike. He broke his eye socket last weekend trying stabs.

Mike backed his rig and four-place trailer down the ramp knowing fully well that he might have some trouble pulling it back out. :clown:
Time to shovel that ramp.

Had to get that snow out from the tires, though.
Break out the torch!

I stripped something in my drive line today. Either mid shaft, pump shaft, or both.

I was thinking about going ride New Year Day but get sick couple days ago.
Way to go

I would love to. I just need find my battery charger and some warm shoes and I'm all over it. Oh then I gotta figure out how to get my ski to the water. Hopefully this snow will go away soon.

pic three is a nice juxtaposition. Jet skis and snow lol. something is not right there.

I give you guys credit for that. You will never see me doing any riding in weather/water near that cold.

Keep in mind that if it were uncomfortable, we wouldn't be doing it.
Proper gear makes all the difference.

Sure.

Mike uses an OSS drysuit, purchased through Randy @ Watcon. He also uses some neoprene riding gloves and boots, as well as a helmet.

I use a Ripcurl F-Bomb 4/3 wetsuit and an old Jetpilot tour coat.
I wear neoprene socks (from the duck hunting section at the sporting goods store) and wrestling shoes.
I ride without gloves and use the hot-hands mod. (Mike does, too, but he still likes gloves).

Occasionally I will put an old Matrix top on over my regular wetsuit, but it's rare.

Right on guys!

I've been contemplating a winter ride here before the lake freezes... and since I'm out of work and have nothing else to do I should get going...

Anyway, nice pics... your kids look like they had fun watching dad winter ride.

Did doing subs in that water help keep the swelling down on Mike's eye??

Does his drysuit keep him 100% dry even doing subs? I would imagine some water goes down his neck.

I don't know if the drysuit lets some water in, but I bet it does.
You stay so warm in it though that you hardly notice.
