Painted then scraped back down….guess im doomed for re-dos on this ski. I painted it at night while it was raining. Soooo humidity affects drying. I found out the hard way. Put it in the sun for like 3 days and still wasnt dry and then I started scraping. Got it scraped back to dry paint. Re-primer, then yellow again, and cleared it. Hopefully it dries this time. Its not raining but high humidity still. Dont really have a choice here unless i wait month or two. Got a set of work lights on it while it dries.

The first time I faired it all and made it nice and smooth. I was really happy with how it came out for rattle cans. It looked really good. The paint just didnt dry in spots. So this time I just rushed it and it looks the part. Haha. But ill let the fish judge the paint and see what they think. Once this dries i’ll flip it and start painting the top.

I painted mine in similar weather conditions. It really helped to put it in a garage immediately after spraying with a kerosene jet style heater going set to 120 degrees. It was nice and hard after 2 hours. Definitely helps to paint in the daylight

Yea no doubt. I learned something at least. I am certainly no painter. Cant have a florida paint job without a love bug getting in it.…..hes along for the ride now.

Welll hopefully it dries good this time. About 6 cans of paint and 3 cans of clear on it. Should have been more patient and let the primer dry completely and sand down. But that wouldve taken a couple more days. The weather was right today so i sprayed all at once. At this point, i know its not a professional paint job and just want to ride it. Haha. Putting it back together is gonna be the easy part.

All done. Rode like 10 miles. No issues at all. Its absolutely the most fun ski ive ridden. Super stoked on how it turned out. I added trim and all. Cant wait for some big surf to really see how capable it is. Turns on a dime, super playful, front hooks and pulls hard. Footholds are perfectly placed for me, the rails feel awesome when turning. The contours I used really work. Today the gulf was flat but crystal clear water. Saw a kemp ridley turtle, sharks, stingrays, schools of everything, a good size king. Perfect day for a maiden voyage.

Rockered and reinforced, Dual cooling, x scream trim ring, thrust nozzle, 155 pump with 6/10 scat swirl cutback, 62t LPW ported. Im not gonna flat water flip but it rips. Im more than happy with it and can tinker with other stuff now. Forgot i added a noco lithium battery. 2.5 lbs. cant beat it.
