Mondo build. Done

I did mine with pex not long ago. Used the pex brass fittings and crimps. My trim cable fits fine in the 1/2" so that's what I used. 3/4" pex for the steering. Heated the tube and pushed it over the Yamaha steer cable fitting then let it cool.

@hornedogg79 that is clean work. Is that white pvc tube on the right side of your photo a drain tube for a scupper valve? And what ski is that? Is it a flat / no sidewall deck? A photo of the completed ski would be appreciated with Resmondo's permission of course.

It's this one. It got buried in all the other fx1 builds. No one was interested. https://www.x-h2o.com/threads/5-wdk-f1pro.201728/
Yea so with 1/2” pex for your trim, whatd you seal your tube with? @hornedogg79
I sealed the brass fittings to the hull with 5200. I drill the hole to fit tightly around the fitting so the nut doesn't slip through. When the pex is clamped on it's mechanically attached to the hull. The grommet provided with my thrust trim fits 1/2".

@hornedogg79 Ok so you had a grommet from a thrust trim setup that fits 1/2” pipe. I got the bulkhead fittings on the way. They’re stainless and should be plenty secure when i snot some 5200 on them. I was wondering about the grommet and cable to tube seal not hull to pipe seal. Thanks for all the info though. I can read all day and never get the idea but when i see it, it clicks. Haha. Some form of mental. Haha

Should I chop the rear while im choppin? -2 ,-4? Pros cons. I ride surf mostly with some intercoastal cruising around and river riding and exploring.

Gettin the nose right. Lots of sanding but picked up a dewalt random orbital and its sweet. Making this seem too easy to get good lines.

Where you at?! Haha. Nah im building a house currently as well so this is budget. House gets priority forsure. But what are your thoughts about it? Like would you have left it longer, cut less off? Angle cut or straight cut? Im not opposed to chopping. Just need some input on what it affects handling wise.

I met you at southern fried freeride. I'm in Charlotte NC. Gray rockered shortened rn. If you want to get into back flips definitely go -4. It will change how you ride it once you shorten it. Have to ride more aggressive to keep the nose down. You're a bit lighter than I am so it would be different for you. Definitely better for doing aerial tricks.

Oh yea man whats up. I remember riding it now. I forgot all about that. Haha. Im not trying to get into aerials really. I just like carving and some re-entries and hanging it all out on the lip. Thank you for reminding me. I dont think I need to go that short then. Maybe ill ride it with the rocker first and see how it is then i can always chop some later.

Making my chines have hard lines again. Carving them out and shaping them. Ill go back over it with some chopped strand once i get them shaped right.

I wouldnt use chopped strand with epoxy resin because the epoxy resin doesn't have the activator that let's the chopped strand lay down properly. For the Chines I'd recommend 8oz e-glass tape for the chines. The tape comes in several different widths

Decided to ditch the other pump tunnel amd glass back in the original. I am almost done with this area. Reinforced from the back with layers of filler and 1708 and then sanding/grinding away at the pump side for mo water.

Really opening it up. And didnt have to make a driveshaft cutout, and insert holes and bulkhead and all the other hard to get right stuff.
