Modifying Limited Chamber? What does it consist of?

Just wondering if some one can answer this question. What exactly is done to a SJ limited chamber when it is "Modified". Is the stinger changed, or is the chamber shortend? etc.....I already undertsand the mod to the exhaust manifold and head pipe, got that done, but am hearing about the limited chamber mod, and I am curious.

The mod chamber is a different version made by FP. It's about 2" shorter if I remember correctly. Supposedly it's a little better for mid to top end and the limited is a little better for bottom to mid. There seems to be a debate on which is best and most who choose the mod chamber do so for ease of installation so my guess is...there isn't any real noticeable difference.

Yes, I understand that. But there is a modification that is being done to the Limited chamber that apparently improves it, fo certain applications. I was just wondering what that modification was/is.

I have two SJ's which are pretty much identicle except 1 has the mod chamber (shorter) and the other has the limited chamber. There is no noticeable difference when riding between the two. FP may have gotten some better Dyno number but I can't tell when riding. As far as Team screams mod to the limited chamber, I've never heard of this. If anyone knows, and more importantly if they're doing something that actually makes a noticeable difference then I'd like to know about it also.

i think they just enlarge the exit of the chamber for larger motors...

Do they enlarge the ID or just the OD. Jet Ski Solutions has a collar that goes on the FP end which enlarges the OD so you can cut down the stock exhaust hose and have a snug fit.

its a reducer that gives more back pressure, separates the water jacket from the exhaust as well not sure why freeriders would want it,gives more rpm, does come in handy if you have a aftermarket waterbox that has no or larger baffles,to give you the proper back pressure that FP designed them to work with.

Reducing the stinger id gets the pipe into it's designed heat range quicker if.
In the newer high revving freestyle engines it is needed as you are on and off the throttle so much
On a race engine you are on the throttle more so heat will go up more too pushing the rpm range of the pipe up, but if there is too much heat you will start melting pistons

The smaller outlet also allows you to inject less water in the tailcone for a "drier" waterbox, and allowing better low end response.
