Super Jet Mitsuba starter motors

Found these on ebay, I know OEM Yamaha starter motors are made by Mitsuba, model sm-13.

The mounting on these doesn't look the same to me though. :shrug:

Would make someone a good deal if they can figure out how to make them work, just wanted to pass it along. If they'll work, post it up here and I'd like to grab a couple. He has 10 available. Thanks

Not Yamaha, at least not 650/701/760. Not a Kawi 650/750 or 800. Not sure what that would fit.

aside from the mounting plate it looks the same..wonder if the end caps could be swapped??

question is are they really new or just rebuilt and painted

I've ordered one of those before from that seller. About three years ago I think. Looks just like a Mitsuba, but it's crap. I actually brought that starter, a used OEM, and a new SBT high torque starter to a starter shop so they could measure amp draw for me.
Lowest draw was used OEM, and notably worse were the other two (about the same for both of them)

Stay away from that garbage.

Regardless, if you see a starter that claims to be OEM Mitsuba and it costs $50, you can most likely conclude that it's chit.

I just buy a known used oem kawi or yamaha and change the end cap. I've done this several times and its a easy swap.

if its not an OEM Mitsuba when you receive it I higly recomend filing a clain to stop this guy from fraud. The chinese crap startes are good for about 5 rides on a high compression motor and if your running a b-pipe you will be PISSED when you have to change it out in 5 rides.
I bought one and can assure you he will get it back plus pour feedback and a paypal issue if it is not correct.

Oh, by the way, I was incorrect on the Kawi 650/750/800 response above. Terry graciously pointed out at PWCToday that I was wrong........... Guess what, Last time I checked I wake up in the morning, I take a dump, take a piss, wash the stank of, eat, sleep, waste my time on stupid websites just like other human. And just like other humans I can make a mistake and be wrong. Certain people believe that they never do wrong, never make a mistake. Dam,I got hosed for one as well! the seller said that they were new Mitsuba taiwan starters lol.
I e-mail the seller to tell them that is is illegal (thru e-bay or anywhere else) to advertise falsely and that I want a refund as soon as I return it. They actually freaking had a shipping confirmation within an hour of receiving paypal so it was too late to cancel
