Missy's SXR

Still Fat....
Here are some photos of Missy's SXR. We sent it to Steve at Kommander to do some mods to it, as well as rebuild the motor. She is in heaven with this ski now. Steve rebuilt the motor (had internal rust build up), running race gas (not that she uses alot of fuel) and Dave at Impros set her Dynafly prop to 13/20 with the TBM pump cone, now using the freestyle cone too.
Blowsion trim system and carbon ride plate
Blowsion front sponsons and one piece nose cover
Deka battery
Kommander head
ture/welded hot rods crank
V-force III reeds and Kommander spacer
dual cooling, and some other little things
Jet Trim custom ride mats, with lifters for her little feet. we were going to get Missy stiched to the bottom but didn't have enough time, nor did we have enough time for the graphics we were going to do. on next years list though

All in all, the ski is awesome, and has some really strong pull too, pulls my fat as$ out of the water easily
the ski rides different from before, so agile now and she really likes it, especially playing with the trim.... now she wants to cut the back of the ski for more trim pull, and has thought about a trinity hull lol

we stayed with the stock exhaust for a few reasons, she likes the smooth power curve, as well as using the tool storage holder for out water bottle, plus she can fit her fishing pole in there if needed. have to say, it's a smooth but powerful contrable curve. I personally like that 1-2 abrupt hit myself...

Just have to say, Steve did an awesome job, and is truly detailed with his work. pricing was aweomse too, but we had alot of stuff done on both skis. If you have an SXR... he is definately the guy to talk to..

Still Fat....
I'll get some more photos later this week, but wanted to post the feedback on the Ripper ride plate from blowsion we installed
it really makes the ski more playful, and she is having a ball with it
i didn't notice any porpusing and the back end felt lighter when jumping
turns on the dime now
now when she pulls the trim and whacks the throttle, the ski basically comes almost straight up (especially with 1/4 tank of gas in it)

there's a few other things we will be doing, but may hold off for the winter to invest in them

i wanted to post an update on Missy's ski... we've done alot of playing around with it to get it friendlier for her tastes... remember this is setup for her liking, and there are many ways to make the SXR fun...

the second thing we did was install the 3dr hood on her ski. i tried to get a hood from Blowsion and Trinity, but they couldn't make one at this time. So Macracing hook us up and we got it the next day. I have to say i know this hood gets some bad press, but i am extremly pleased with it. talk about light... OMG... light as hell, makes my 24-7 carbon hood feel like a tank... ohh yeah.. to make it seal better, i needed a thicker seal for it, so for now, i have a $2.95 home depot weather seal around the top of hull around the engine. This is ABSOLUTELY perfect. MAC racing and I spoke about it and they are addressing it

the third thing to try is to use a longer handlepole to get further back in the ride tray. I am personally trying to locate a Dales Jepsport one since we have the -2 now. that will be next years item to do

so for now, she is absolutely loving the setup, the ski snaps up quickly, has some real strong snap to it (John (227) and Phil can vouge for it). she loves pulling the trim and whacking the throttle open, gets the ski almost verticle instantly. the light weight hood is probably the first mod to do to an SXR. what a HUGE difference.

I am posting some photos to show some of the goods and hopefully give some info to some of those thinking about similar mods. i don't have the hood snaped shut in the photos, but despite the 3dr having a "gap" it takes in 0 water. its body lines are really nice too. on the attached engine shot, i dont have the seal on the seal, was getting it ready at the time. but the seal i put looks good too.

Steve at Kommander really pepped up this motor, still with the stock exhaust.
i want to put a pipe and Advent on it next season if we keep this hull.

future changes will be to cut the rear tray so the trim comes up more, and install footholds, and perhaps a hood with handholds (or modify the 3dr one now), the other thought is take her setup and place it in a EVO Pro hull.. who knows what next year will bring....

Can I ask where you got the mat kit? I was thinking of getting set of mats with lifters (blowsion) like that for my girl. Shes not real hyped on foot holds.

I had Steve from Kommander install them
I belive they are custom made as i have the bumpers made wider and longer
and also brought them down to fit her better (little stubs for feet lol)
They are Jet trim
actually very nice too

she's not to sold on footholds either, so if we do foot holds, it may be the rec type

what you may want to do is have her try a ski with the lifters to see how she likes the foot placement, and thickness of them. at first these thicker lifter threw her off, but now she really likes them

If you get that Trinity hull, you won't want to ride your own boat anymore!

i don't know about that.... i am sentimentally attached to my SJ....
many fun years together, and was built by Paul too...

i need her to try one of the trinity hulls before we buy

i'd like to get the ski lighter (power to weight) and possibly shorter, i think that would make an awesome setup for her...

what pump are you running?
she has the stock pump, blueprinted, 13/20 Impros prop, with TBM pump cone, and it bites nicely (worx intake grate)

I have stock pump, stock impeller, head, flywheel and pipe. My hull is -2. She can ride mine at Daytona...

Some shots from adding the longer Dale's handle pole
Thanks to Skinnyman for hooking me up with it, and Phil for powercoating it for us and helping with the trailer Axels
Phil did a nice job on the handlepole threading the holes for the cable cover with button head screws
makes it super nice looking too

Not sure what we will do next for her, have to see how this pole helps her in getting further back in the tray...

a few ideas we have tossed around:
big bore motor or DASA cyl
wet pipe
RRP made longer
blowsion rec footholds
trim the rear ride tray to get more tilt on her trim system
and of course a possible aftermarket hull too

BTW......
She's ready to race BK lol
