Here's the result of sucking seashells/sand up & plugging the front coolant line coming off the head. :scared: The ski was running fine, then I landed off a wave & did a sustained full power tailstand to recover (a smaller wave was crashing over me) & suddenly the motor lost a cylinder. I guess the tailstand combined with the plugged line caused the overheating. :aargh4:

Note the completely missing material between the rings & the rings themselves. The missing ring pieces were in the bottom end.

Crank seems fine, cases seem fine. Gotta split 'em tomorrow for a closer look. I've already flushed the bottom end w/premix about a dozen times & aluminum flakes are still coming out.

That sucks dude. Didn't you notice any decrease in water pressure from the water bypass (pisser) or was the water flow decreased just enough to cause that damage but still flowing overboard?

Yeah, I always keep an eye on the pissers when I first go out & occasionally thereafter. We were riding in the wave break area & it must've sucked up the junk & I didn't catch it in time. :17:

over-rotated a br and landed totally flat on my left side... knocked the wind out of me and it knocked loose the goo that holds the two pieces of the hood together... It cracked the side of my hull too...

I really aired that one out.. I've been trying to get more air on my br's and miss calculatd on how much rotation I neded...
