IMG_4647.jpgI picked up my Superfreak Badass hull from the Blowsion shop in Portland today.
I took the day off work, left at 8am and just got back at 10:15pm.

Nice day - We took the kids to Voodoo Donuts (featured on Man vs Food), went to lunch with good friends, got some Kershaw knives sharpened at the factory, got the hull, saw some more friends, shopped at Trader Joe's, and then went home.
About a 620 mile round trip.
I am pretty tired and need to go to work tomorrow. Here's a few pictures.

The hull weighed in at 56.2lbs on my bathroom scale. Tem originally told me 59lbs.
Hood weighs 8lbs. I already dropped it on the concrete garage floor and put scratches in it. Yay for clumsiness.
Once I get my carbon pole, waterbox, and rideplate from Tem, the full carbon Superfreak bliss will be complete. Can't wait!

A BIG HUGE shoutout to the Blowsion crew. Johnny helped me out big time by helping to arrange shipping to his shop and getting me much-needed parts for this build. Huge thanks to his crew who uncrated the ski for me, had my order ready when I got there, and wrapped the hull for the transport home. THANKS GUYS!
Also a HUGE thanks to Tem for hooking me up and working with my special requests and frequent PM's/emails/phone calls.

More to follow.

right on Matt glad you got it! I thought you were getting a heavier lay up version though? This hull was still pretty fun and stable in the surf for a light weight hull though.

So, I guess you got to paint it now!!!!!!!!!!!! Dumbass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ( I did the same thing the day I bought my first superjet, had the hood sitting on the trailer, cranked it up, it vibrated off!)

I was planning on painting it anyway. The tooling gelcoat that's on there seems pretty thin. I wouldn't run just that finish.
About the layup: Since I unfortunately spend most of my time on flatwater, I went for the carbon version. However, it is the heaviest carbon layup has done to date.
I had Tem do a few "weird" things to this hull. It does not have a scupper. It has a waterline to run the OEM bilge setup.

Btw, my hull was in nice company at the Blowsion shop. I thought I would just pick up the crate and peel it off once I got home.
Nope, by the time I got to the shop it was unpacked and put on a stand next to two Lightweight.de boats, the Rickter that Ross rode in Daytona, and another Rickter.

That's badass! Congrats.

Did he finish the donut (kind of hard to with that grill)? But then again, kids can do some amazing things.

He gave a small piece to his little brother, but he did eat an easy 3/4 of it. It was the biggest meal I've ever seen him eat.
