SXR Lost Spark

Finally got my pipe fixed (no thanks to Factory Pipe) big thanks to AirBlair and Jetmaniac.

Rode my ski to the beach in 4 footers. Ski ran perfect. Took off backpack, filmed for ten minutes. Got on ski, and NO SPARK. Any ideas? This can't be from a loose SS Switch connection could it? Put it back on tight, but still no spark.

Fuse is good.
Cranks over fine.
No sparky.

Stator?
Coil?

Both are only a couple years old.

Lol just noticed that. Kawis ss is easy to clean.
Pull the 2 screws out you will see the stop button try starting it at thus point. The wHite peice likes to stick.... you will see a little Phillips with a metal circle bracket pull that off. Pull the stop out there will be 4 more screws remove them pop the top off. Clean it use dielectric grease to lube It put it back together. Or you can ohm it out.

To help sparkplug boots slip on easier.
dielectric grease = does not conduct electricity, poor lubricant
regular grease = might become somewhat of a conductor at high voltage.
I personally use reg. mineral based grease on all of my electrical connectors- no issues ever noted.
It's a lot cheaper, too!

I think Kawasaki will crank even with lanyard off, Yamaha will not, therefore your switch could be bad but still crank.

Kawi will spin over without the kill switch installed, it just does not spark, if your switch is bad, you may put your lanyard in, but the System is still grounded. But thinking about that again, no sure how it would keep the ground, when the lanyard comes out, it pushed down and grounds out the system killing the spark. Scratch that unless someone else has another idea

My guess is you got water in those electronics when that manifold was messing with you this season. I would try cdi first. But that's because I've had two bad ones in two seasons myself
