A slight parody of the other thread but no sappy Country songs here, How many guys lost their favourite ski to a girlfriend/wife and never got it back?

If one of them ever tells me( either the skis go or I go) I am going to miss them somewhat, the G/F not the skis!

I guess this should count, We were a little tight on cash flow so the wifey decided to sell her SXR. I was all against it so I convinced her if we couldn't sell it for 5K then we wouldn't sell it at all (thinking I'd never get that price) but sure enough some dude shows up with cash! I even put the stock pole back on before I sold it so I didn't take to hard a hit!

sounds like she just confiscated it since you got a new one on order!

Jen hasn't taken any of my skis but is full on when it comes to hand me downs. I was slowly building up my 96 when she came on the scene. I took her out once with it and she loved it. I was going to give her the pick the SXR or the old SN once I got them down from Canada but a couple days later a sweet 07 hull came up I suggested I build a sweet new ski from the ground up and before I could even get that far in my pitch she asked if she would get the 96 and I couldn't say no.

When I started talking about the new Team Scream SS865 the first thing she asked me was if I would sell my ported 760 or if I would put it in her ski. I think that's when i really fell in love with her. So a few weeks ago when I suggested that I buy a Trinity hull instead of the Team Scream engine, she suggested that I use her old 96 as the donor instead of the 07 and that I may as well leave the 07 as is, complete with the 760 and just get the Team Scream too, you know it's the right thing to do, just take out the trim, I don't want trim on my new ski.

Well folks, I knew what I had to do and I proposed that very weekend. She said yes and when she suggested we take our Honeymoon in Daytona the week of the freeride I knew I had made the right decision.

Let's see them make a Country Song about that!!

I got lucky. My wife gave skis an honest try a couple years ago. She never rode anything ski or bike wise, never snowboarded, skateboarded, etc. Her first ski was one of JonnyX2's old skis. She has moved to a 550, rides my FX-1 extremely well, and will have a RN next season. She is definitely hooked and looking to try everything now, I guess I have to take her snowboarding and get her a quad, lol, so my cost on toys went up, but I would not have it any other way.

I dated people in the past where we each had our own hobbies, they wanted me to drop mine yet support theirs (usually horses) fully. If you can find somebody outdoorsy or at least open minded to your hobbies then go for it. If not, avoid them like the plague.
