Nice grab. Is it 61x or 62t, I guess you can tell by the part #?

I hope you bought it by clicking a link on here so we get a commission?

Oh crap, I totally forgot to link it through here. I was in such a rush to "buy it now" before someone else grabbed it that I forgot all about it.

I promise to do better in the future!

No worries, I did the exact same thing last week when I bought my Moto Q for work. Totally forgot until like 5 minutes after I bought it.

What makes this so much better than a stock flywheel that has been lightened?

Is it still that much lighter?

Yes, I think they are around 1.5 lbs lighter than stock where most people only take around .5 lbs off a stocker when they lighten them.

GASKETS FOR CHAMP BRAP!
My 61X Jetinetics alum charging wheel worked great for a year then it blew out a magnet and trashed the stator and rashed the inside just like the one you bought Mcdog. Jetinetics repaired the flywheel and even paid for a new stator. The scraping rash was still there and it worked well for another 7 years. Then it started cracking in about 10 spots from the hub area outwards a couple of inches. I was getting intermittent spark one day and it took me awhile to figure out it that it was the stator that was starting to wobble on the crankshaft and throwing the pickup coil/magnets off line.

Mine had the steel hub, but the steel on your goes up further than mine did(first generation I believe). I think that because they were getting a lot of them to crack, they made the longer steel hub up the face of the wheel to prevent that.

You got a great deal for sure! Good luck with it and they really do make a big difference for throttle response compared to stock or even lightened stock.

I have one of those as well in the garage that Im saving for a rainy day...

Awhile back I called them and they said that if I sent it to them(Jetinetics) that they would see if it could be repaired, but if it couldn't then they would give me 25% off on a new one. I ended up buying a RAD Riva alum on e-bay for 275ish(you remember? We battled for it lol), then I went to TL after that.

Have you or anybody you know done that and how were the results?
I'm curious.. I would love to have that working again as I am building up ol' square #113 for a surf boat and would love to have that in there again.

I wonder if Jetinetics put one of those bigger steel hubs on there if it would hold up and I wonder what the cost would be? hmmm

waterfreak is still running his after about 1.5 years of solid riding every weekend. i have never heard of anyone else doing it. when i had the idea, he brought it to his machinist, who had all kinds of reasons that it wouldnt work. he does that with everything though... kind of a 'worse case scenario' thinker. but its still holding strong. he just assembled a stroked able motor and i was inspecting the f/w and it looks like the day he put it on there. i cant remember if the outside of the hub was tapered and to be machined, or not. just gotta make sure the sleeve is thin enough not to hit the stator (obviously).

I'll post up some pics and see what you think.
Did you see his(the cracks) before the machinist did that mod? Was it a Jetinetics or?
I'd love to see pics of that.
