Long story Short....

I rode for 5 mins sunday and ski was bogging... then took it out of water and the 6mil ran away... (this point I crapped myself) I took it home to find out that from doing 50/50's I kicked the throttle and it broke the linkages to the carbs and held it wide open.... Yikes.

Well long story short...
Alex (blownchevy) and Brent (D Slicker) I was running by afternoon.
they both came up to ride and wrenched with me..

Ha, the linkage to my wife's carbs came just loose enough this weekend for the rear carb to open and close just sometimes. I suppose I could have seen this by removing the flame arrestors but I decided to go ahead and swap out the coil first (I swear it was bad anyways!).

50/50's? "Sucking at flatwater" is a relative statement. :bananapowerslide:

Well, I was with caker when his motor decided to yell back at him for all the abuse he puts it through. He was just finishing up flushing when it ran away big time. He rip the hood off, grabbing the plug wires and was yelling help like he was getting mugged. He both started ripping fuel lines off like crazy and got it stopped. After that I though caker was going to drop dead of a heart attack he was shaking so bad.
All is good now and he'll probally be able to laugh about it in a few months, maybe years. Glad to hear it's running good again.

Man that run away is soo scary - seen it twice, my third eye was really twitching!.. you pull off the lanyard and the plug leads and its still screamming.. its like WTF?!!! - glow plugging I think they call it when the end of the plug is hot enough to maintain the burn without the spark and away goes the vicious circle! - get them fuel lines off quick or pull the choke or prime it while holding WOT kills it. - I don't have any cable ties on my gas line into the carbs now so I can get them off if needed.

Even the rev limiter is disabled!! - yikes!:bigeyes:

thats the correct term, and yes...it WILL happen to you someday...


just pull the throttle wide open (assuming good linkage :rolleyes: :smile: ), or block off the flame arrestor....


the stop button will do NOTHING, as will pulling the wires.....:lightning:

Sounds almost like a problem I had a few days ago. We were helping Paul pack up his shop when my friend stopped by to say hello. My ski was outside pretty far away from me and he started it up without me knowing. He comes running in yelling, how do I turn your ski off? I just laughed and turned around, when Paul was like, dude, its really running. So I had to run out to shut it off. The moron couldnt find the big red stop switch!!!!!!!!

It was probly hilarious from a 3rd person view.. Man scared me though.

Could you image, 2 days after paul moves and I blow up his ADA 6 mil. Holy Shoit Balls !
