You have to drill out the center of the steering stop.

Or if you are not using the stock leather looking handle bar cover, you can just drill a hole through the turnplate itself. That is the way mine is set up on my SXR. For the bungie end, you can just clip it to the handle bar spring.

Or you can just bolt it to the side, if you buy the sxr umi rope. Or you could make the stainless bracket yourself.

Ah I like that thanks guys! I'm going to give my stock pole a life expectancy of about 2 weeks...then I'm SOL till UMI replaces my broken pole.

No drilling, just had to remove a 1/4 off the ear's of the bottom cover.

On the bottom... you can replace the two allen bolts that hold the latch with eye hooks. Works great.
