Not sure if this was meant for me or BT (or both), but here is my position...

The statement "I have 3 brand new black lightweight billet aluminum handle poles ($1300 from Blowsion) ready to go." STRONGLY implies that this person purchased poles from Blowsion for $1300 and is reselling them (for around half the price).

I was asking for confirmation if these are authentic poles purchased from Blowsion, because I suspect they are not and that would change my level of interest...If these are authentic RRP poles purchased from Blowsion (with a receipt) I'll buy them all.

There are many many many people trying to make a buck selling "knock-off" RRP poles, and there is certainly a market for them (I bought one before I was ready to throw "RRP Money" at this hobby) - but implying that what you are selling costs nearly double when purchased from a reputable vendor is a fallacy when that reputable vendor is selling a product that came at a much higher cost to them, because it is authentic and supports the R&D involved in bringing an original product to market.

It's fine to try to sell an alternative, but call it what it is and don't try to pass it off as something it's not. The no-brand poles like this can be found for $350 on Alibaba available in single quantities...is the shipping from China $350 for one? If so, and you're willing to wait weeks for it, this IS close to cost like @KMN said and might be a good deal for someone who doesn't want to wait for a container ship. The price isn't really my gripe, but rather the implication that the RRP and NON version are apples to apples when they are not.

As for why a forum member who hasn't posted in 4 years has 3 aftermarket poles listed for wholesale? Well now that is a question for a potential buyer to consider.

Pretty easy to go on alibaba and order a bunch of poles at $450 a piece and resell them. See this crap on FB all the time. None of this is post dumping and this activity is hard on the sport.

I'm hoping he's been quietly building a bada$$ squarenose in the background and is just coming up for air.

Since the seller appears to accept P/P goods and services, it's likely not a scam, in which case this is a good deal for what it is.

Actually it is post dumping. You go post something for sale here. Then I come in and start questioning it validity, Bob was sitting here about to send a PM saying I will take it, But now he is having second thoughts about it and decides "Nah, will go somewhere else"....... You just lost a sale of an item that you needed to sell, and now others saw all this and are scared away...................

If you notice, Original Poster never said "These are RRP Poles", He listed them as Lightweight Alum Poles and compared them to poles Blowsion sells....... Grin made the reference to "Authentic RRP Poles"........... This also casted a bad light on this listing.........

I hear this a lot. Same shape/appearance doesn't necessarily mean same raw material used, same finish durability , same qc standards etc. If one company is making poles from 7050 and one is making them out of 6061, a typical consumer might see them as the same when they in fact have very different properties. I'm not saying that RRP are made of 7050 and the "knockoffs" are made of 6061 - I have no idea and actually assume they are both 6061- all I'm saying is that if this were the case, most people wouldn't perceive a difference visually, and therefore would equate the poles as being "the same" when one product would technically be inferior and have a justified higher price-point as it costs more to produce - harder alloy means slower machining time, more tooling wear, etc.

Don't get me wrong, I know enough about manufacturing overseas to know that when someone puts enough money in front of a shop foreman who is making "authentic product" during the day and tells them the machines are going to keep running all night making the exact same product without authorization, we DO often end up with the exact same items with dramatically different costs attached.

That being said, I am still wondering if these are available lol
