There was a Red one in My boat for a 100 Hour test of Pancake abuse.
Not one Crack, Held up awesome, looked great when it came out too.
I can say you loose a little power but it is Hardly noticeable. I am going
to say like 80-85% hit off it and regular limited would be like 100% hit
that is still 80-85% better than stock, and all depends what you want
a little power or Purrdy !

I hope I explained that ok !

I'm not sure what Pete is trying to say here, But I think he was trying to say, the chamber it's self held up to the abuse, but the power wasn't as would be expected??????

One can only assume he bumped his head on the sofa , practicing his double BR attempt.......... ( good thing it was the sofa)

In reality, the only real benifit to the carbon chamber is the weight savings

Madmat,

2 stroke pipes work on pressure reflections up and down the pipe,

These pressure waves have top be strong and at the correct time to hold the fresh charge (air fuel mixture) in the cylinder and extract the waste exhaust mixture at the correct times.

It may sound silly but the carbon absorbs some of the pressure waves and so the waves returned to the exhaust port are not as strong as those of a aluminum or stainless chamber.

This in turn creates a slight loss of power, ie not as crisp

Hope that made sense :)

i spoke with charles (crammit44) a lot about his chambers. hes made some hot metalic blue and candy red ones too:hail:

i believe the reason carbon chambers dont work, according to what i understand, is the resin used to mold them. the resin being used can't handle the heat and there for starts to absorb the sound reflection. a high epoxy resin that can with stand more heat would probably do the trick, but then again that'll start to hit the bank when you use higher quality epoxy. charles is the man!!

Hey how much did this list for? :hail:

Maybe there's something to the "dry carbon" part of the chamber.

I beleve what Pete was trying to say is he saw about a 10-15% decrease in power over is aluminum limited chamber.

i was the one that commented on the chamber looking like utter crap. Even with the low res picture, you can still see it. Charles chamber looks nothing shy of perfect.

I kind of think the chamber has been used before the pics were shot. thats why it looks so ruff. 2 years ago, I saw & held those chambers at Lenzi's condo in Havasu........... Trust me when I say, its way better in person
