Lamey vs 66E

66e is heavy

Lameys are heavier that OEM cylinders. I wish I had a bunch of motors laying around for weight comparisons. I know the 66e's crank is 10lbs heavier than a 701 crank. Complete motor wise I would say that the package is only about 15lbs heavier that a 701 based lamey.

if you have a light weight hull, add the 66e and magnum pump you will probably the weight of a stock superjet or just under that.

i have a 8mm lamey here if you want me to weigh it

arent you guys worried about piston speed on the 66e
what rpm are you reving them to ??

i need to have a look at one of these engine to make a digital igntion for one

7250-7300 , 7200 being ideal w.o.t fully loaded , limiter kicks in at 7450 when the eng comes unhooked out of the water

ok on a 78mm stroke your piston speed is right up there i will work it out later

66e is an fx1 is for idiots and i want to be the first idiot in line to ride it

Also factor in if you have installed sleeves or did a BB and re-plated the cylinders. I have read that plating increases piston speed and a makes the motor run cooler.

I think the magnum 144mm 12 vein might work best.
im sure it is the best and a 14 might be better ?? but they are $$$$$$, the 1998 gp800 came with a 144mm pump and a junk prop that the eng could cavitate very easily , since then they have developed several 144 props that can choke a stock 66e with a 144 pump so untill your making at least 160 hp i wouldn't worry about a mag pump ! there are plenty of props and intakes to choose from untill you get there ! Just food for thought !

hey freestyle , if you reread the article i think you will find it to say : ''' it allows the pistons to accelerate faster due to less friction '' i believe stroker pistons travel at a faster rate creating more heat and generating less overall reliability and longevity doing so !:cool2: your correct on running cooler due to excellent heat transfer through the nicasil ! one other thing nicasil allows is tighter tolerences IE ' piston to cyl fit '' it is sweet stuff !

any time you would like to jump the ditch again wax you are more than welcome to use my gp800 for a test bed for one off your ignitions i wont to get ride off the total loss on it :cheer2: lol

thanks for that
i dont think i will be going that far afield to do it
i am not sure how many people would be interested in one so i am not sure what to do

the thing is what sort of enclosure they have

but i am looking at it

well the piston speed on a stroker is less
so i would tend to disagree with that
most built up 800 have bb sleeves in them and that the same material as a stroker

so its just like a 10mm stroker
