shouldn't the heavy rotating mass of an electric motor be similar to a gas engine? it might even be a bigger rotating mass than a gas engine.

ah....that would be a yes. EXCEPT while jumping. then the rotation stops.

the reality is, the current tech is ideally suited to MX racing from a power ( battery life ) standpoint, but for actual power delivery (electric motor characteristics) it's better suited to off road ( enduro/HS).

It's a good start, but they have a ways to go to get it so that it's a viable alternative for either.

I dont ever see this being designed for a true MX application. the sport is way to specialized.
and if I know KTM at all... they are working out the kinks to make this a true off-road bike to replace gas in the woods.

wouldn't the motor spin w/ the wheels... just design an idle into the bike

how are they going to replace the feel and sound of a reving gas engine? To me that is part of the excitement of motor sports.

careful, starting to sound like a trail rider tim. youre reading too many kickstand posts!

railing a berm in 3rd with your bars dragging is more the adrenaline rush/excitement i'm looking for.. i dont care if the bike runs on gaterade! :highhorse:

i'd ride an electric bike if it made sense. let the nerds figure out the details!

wow.... why is that guy kicking his handlebars like that???
:bananapowerslide:

he hates and destroys ANYTHING in front of him. he thought it was another rider's bike at the moment.

he's like half robot, half terminator, and half alien. its a weird guy.

that reminds me... I need to change my taillight... Saki, do you have any tips on that???

yes, a sawzall or plasma torch works best.

i would recommend using your bikes gps navigation system to direct you to the right place to start cutting.

please remember to turn on your left turn signal before starting. safety first.
