Did you order one? I am about to pull the trigger on a brand-new SXR coil.

I am not sure that either of my coils is bad, but I'd like to have a brand-new one in the box. Tired of wrenching.

They are not EXACTLY the same, however the kawasaki 750sx/sxi coil can be used in the yamaha twin. The leads on the kawasaki are slightly longer than the yamaha. I know that the kawi will work in the superjet: not sure about the yamaha in a kawi.

SXR coil is what I run. They're about 70 bucks brand-new and have better wires than the Yamaha coils.
It's the same size as the Yamaha coil. You will need boots & terminals, though.

The length of the leads are my only question. I just got a new 750zxi coil because it appeared to have the longest leads measuring 18"/23". My new Yamaha coil has 30" leads. How long are SXR leads?

I didn't measure the leads on the SXR coil I bought, but they were plenty long enough in both a Superjet and a Blaster.

while on the subject,I hear kawi throttle cables are cheaper, and have better ends, and to top it all off you dont need that complete rip off $10 tiny ass nothing throttle adapter to make it fit billet throttle triggers.
How about the steering ables they are cheaper as well, wonder if they could be used or adapted to work on a sj

Wow great info, I wasnt sure about that either. I would use the SXR if it is long enough, the cables are better. I think on the throttle cable, its not the SXR cable its the SXi or something, Kevin at Wamiltion was telling me its the way to go, bigger cable, no throttle adapter, only thing is you have to buy an aftermarket throttle drum for the carbs. He says its still cheaper and better in the end. Can anyone back this up with part numbers, etc?

I like the Jetski solutions coil service because it changes the wires and contectors to a super high grade. The wires are also covered in a mesh loom that prevents exterior chafing. I've had it on my surf boat for 4 years and never had a problem. since the coil bodys are all the same this service can even take a coil from a couch with resistor wires and make it into a saltwater worthy part.
