jumping posture

what about how when jordan would jump and bring his legs up to raise his center of gravity, to give the illusion of being higher and being in the air longer. your center of gravity follows the trajectory path right? not you head or feet.

does bringing your heels too your butt bring you to the ski or the ski to you? like a sub for example, when you bring your heels to your butt, i assume the ski is lifting, not you dropping down because the nose then enters at an angle.

so going with those two arguments, i'd have to say bring the ski to your butt will pull the center of gravity of the person-ski combo up, therein (haha) giving an illusion of a longer jump. right?

does any of that make any sense?

you lost me. Please, set me straight without putting your foot in your mouth.
I actually lighten up and get sarcastic and all of the sudden you are Mr. Serious and get all uptight about it? Seriously though, how does that thing ride without a pole on it? Any noticable weight increase? Does it handle more like an X2 or an SJ?

I would think most tricks would be a bit easier, plus you could do heel clickers, KOD's, bar hops and ******** like that while better maintaing control of the ski.

I missed the sarasim in me or my sj being castrated.

I've never ridden an x2. I'd say it rides kind of like a small blaster. It feels like it weighs half as much when riding.

I see. that's not what castrating means btw. castrating is cutting something else off

I know but I was not sure of what word means....yeah...so I threw that down. I also did not want to search for it on my work computer people might see and think I am crazy or something.

#1) this is about surf
#2) you have no sense of style
#3) how can you say that the "I'm taking a dump" squat looks better?

PS
don't cry. I'm halfway joking, but I'm certainly not trying to start any girl fights.

garrett...I like you more and mroe every time I see you post...you have some funny ******** to say...

So when are we all going to get together and ride the secret inlet again? Did I just hear you say Sunday? That would be great. What time?

So you are arguing that squatting looks better? I can't believe I'm reading this. Even when riding surf stance I try to stay as vertical as possible when JUMPING STRAIGHT. Vertical is also the SAFE way to jump straight when you are getting any altitude. Like Nick said, if you are squatted at all, you WILL collapse into the tray and you'll look like a retard throughout your flight and landing.

Just because your opinion differs from the MAJORITY doesn't mean that the rest of us are wrong and simply engaging in a circle of self pleasure.

This all depend in the wave you hit. Hitting a steep wave will require you to straighten up to get a decent landing. On less steep waves where you launch more distance than height you need to adjust the attitude of the ski and land slightly more flat. Also, where I ride, waves roll in with no gaps between them sometimes you land at the top of the wave behind it. Would you go straight legged into that? No. Sometimes you have to even point your nose down so you're in full squat. You can't put a limitation on how you adjust your body when freeriding. You have to adjust to the situation. Also you and alot of other people completely ignore body tweaks. Scott Watkins used to air out and squat back, lift the pole then setup for his landing. Victor Sheldon used to do someting similar both are considered two of the most stylistic riders ever. The only thing I agree will you on is that landing in a squat is unsafe and looks stupid but that's it. To me there is no pet peeve with bending your knees. To me what makes good style is how you flow.

every one seems to want to add exceptions to when you should straighten your legs.

exceptions:
surf stance
grabs or any other trick that requires bent legs
If you want people to think you got a few more inches of air (are you that vein?)
if you are a no style havin' SOB and want to let everyone know

Did I miss any?
