Ok, I just bought one of these and like with everything the first thing i do is take it apart. Things went flying out and i just wanted to make sure 1) I have found every thing that should be inside i.e. the spring and ball. 2) That order in the photo is how it goes back toghether. Can someone confirm this for me please.

i think that is the non adjustable one... in order to set the pressure you have use washers on the inside to increase the spring tension. This is compared to the adjustable model where you just twist to modify the spring tension.

Yes your right mate there's 3 washers that come with it to adjust the spring tension. Any reccomendations on what setting for freestyle?

p.s. Thanks Motoman & oxnard

really depends... each unit could react a little different, but you probably good with no washers... Atleast that is what Art from Jetworks told me. Art told me the goal for my type of surf riding is about 1.5 psi. He used a pop off gauge to determine bluegtate's FCV psi, which turned out to be no washers. So I just copied bluegtate's.

i just left mine on the trailer with the hood off and set it where i wanted by twisting it with the flow control shooting overboard

Somone told me you run them without the washers also so will give that ago first.

Thanks for the help. Really appreciated!

How? Not doubting you, just curious.

less water in the waterbox makes for easier revs......It will produce a little less "load" on the carb response when you goose the throttle..

so, in essence..if your carb response is good...it'll make it better

if your carb response is bad, the JW will help....but you are just cheating yourself out of power by allowing the valve to clean up your throttle response..

Does that make sense?

Most of the time the JW valve helps with making the carbs jet easier, helps with the rich stumble when doing a lot of blipping the throttle for freestyle riding from the waterbox not loading up with too much water off idle.

as the directions say what washers to run depends on your motor/pump/cooling setup.

the directions say to run after the t to the pisser/waterbox, but that didnt create enough pressure to open the valve for me so i ran it before the t. now i can see the water flow shut off and on. i think im running one medium washer.

fcv are great cheap mod for more responce. i will always run one.

theres not much for 50 bucks that will get you much.

a wet wolf cone maybe... but most people claim its barely noticeable.

basically...if you are willing to spend 5-700 on a factory pipe... why not spend 50 more on a flow control...well at least thats how i look at it
