or you can wad up a bunch of duck tape and cover. I raced mine with footholds back in 2003/2004 Honestly, they really screw up your stance!!!!!!! I never plugged them. But making a mold and velcro is a great idea!

I remember a foothold plug being mentioned in an old thread but I can't remember if it was a product pitch or purely conceptual.

Either way it's a great idea for crossover riders.

That's what I was thinking. Plus, if you plug them, isn't your tray going to shrink by a few inches, or is that a non-issue?

Well, there are so many different footholds. It would be tough to make one set of plugs fit them all. With the many ways we all pad and turf our footholds, it would be tough to make it a universal part.
I cut out a few peices of pink insulation foam, and used contact cement to glue them together. From there it was easy to sand them to shape for a nice fit.

Whats the reasoning behind that? Our sport is small enough without the sactioning bodies limiting who can participate in events (I can see it now-OH were sorry you can't race in the Surf Slam because you have footholds hmmmm why cant we find enough competitors to fill up a heat????)

I seem to remember that it's because of injury potential. Something about getting stuck in the holds. I may be wrong, but I think I am right.
The enforcement of this rule seems to vary from region to region.

I think the rules allowed footholds as long as they don't extent beyond the width of the tray. I remember seeing some for SXR's that required no cutting to install and claimed to be race legal. And they do allow lifters, so that makes sense.

Traditional footholds are to be blocked off, for sure.

unless is for comp racing, its totally gay

arent you an adult? go ahead, make an easy joke....

but for real..control yourself a little bit...If you have a wife, family and home to provide for, its really not that difficult

and if anything....take this thead out of the FREESTYLE section....better yet, put it on pwctoday

Crab just lay down some handy wrap in the foot wells, mix up some 2 part foam and make your own. To make them water proff find somebody with shink wrape or vacuum sealer and your good to go.
