If You Only Had 15 Days...

Guys n gals, I'm trying to rack my brains here and think it's time to get some suggestions. My current place of employment is going to fold, it's official and I only have 15, maybe 17 working days left to make some basic hardware for the SJ. I only have access to a worn out old manual lathe and an equally if not more so worn out old manual mini mill. If you had only 15 working days to make some hardware, whether it be for your ski or garage for working on the vehicle, what would you try to make in a quick fab concept? I have full permission to use whatever supplies I need to make I as much as I can for myself. I have a couple of small thoughts like a hitch receiver mount plate for a small bench vise, a bearing push tube for the rear bearings on my truck, a few push blocks and cross member press blocks for my new manual hydraulic press. I'm hitting a wall on anything else. Anything time consuming now is going to eat away what little I have left to pound out a bunch of quick and easy items. If anyone has a drawing of a pump alignment tool I would be game to attempt that. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Well, so far I've made a universal bench vise setup for the truck hitch. Next will be some push pucks for my new mini hydraulic press and aluminum cross bars for doing things like pump bearings or aluminum bearing spindle maintenance. Other things I have made in the recent past are a compact dual purpose flywheel puller/crank lockout to remove couplers reliably. Impeller removal tools, custom water injection screws for the B-pipe, a bearing puller for my truck. I'm running out of ideas though, any other thoughts floating around out here?

Without having a flywheel to measure I can't do it. This is for me though just to have some tooling advantage for at home. I'll likely not ever have this option again when I move on to the next job.

So far so good. My new portable bench vise setup worked well, my custom Sasquatch sized impeller tools worked flawlessly! I'm really impressed with how resilient they are. I did an impeller swap today and didn't use the tool that came with the impeller lol. My custom tool didn't flinch a bit. Next thoughts after using the vise setup are to make a set of soft jaws for it. If anyone has any home garage tooling suggestions I should have for the sj I'm all ears.

I always think big picture. If they are folding anyways. Start making a deal on the mill, lathe and any tooling and material you can lay your hands on!

Then you have all the time in the world to make us impeller tools.

Lol...I wouldn't make a deal on that junk. It's so worn out it would cost more to repair than to replace. That and I have nowhere to store anything. Maybe when I get my house next year providing things work out with the new company I am supposed to be going to, I would definitely consider making some things for our site members. My water screws for the B-pipe I think would be a hit since it's a much better alternative to the weak ones that come with the B-pipe. For now though I just want to come up with as many simple tools and ideas that I can to equip my current mini garage. The new job from what I understand won't have any machining equipment. So I need to get what I can made up for meself now while I still have the time.
