Other If you built your own ski, what would you build

If you were going to have a manufacturer build a ski, what would it be?

Not an aftermarket $10k hull or $10k engine but a factory ski?

Would you have them build two, freestyle and race?

What would be on your list?

Thanks

I dont know if I completly understand the question but I like the Rickter FS2. Super stable yet super light weight. Really the ultimate ski.

RN SJ is tough to beat...hence the never ending design change. Ive never ridden an 08+ but sometimes I wish my SJ carved a bit better.

SXR with trinity carbon hood , UMI pole , 140 mag pump , Skat nozzle w trim , Dasa billet Powervalve motor , wet pipe , novi carbs , TBM flywheel , advent T4 ignition

09 SuperJet with original 24/7 sr71 hood kit , 2000 stock sj pole , cold fusion bracket , 140 set back 14 vein mag pump , protect trim down nozzle , Group K big bore race gas hammer , novi carbs , B pipe limited chamber X Scream stinger mod , cold fusion under hood fuel filler .

Wait a minute . Already built these skis . Theres not much I would change other than maybe an 8mil Dasa stroker for the superjet. That will be this fall. GroupK motor has been flawless and pulled many holeshots but ready for more .

Forgot to add I have a 750 fuel injected turbo four stroke . It is sick fast . Lake only . Titan billet H pole , Queen intercooler etc.

Since the question wont let me mentally build a superfreak hull....

Kawi 750 sx with a yami 701/760, yamaha pump, and yami electronics with x metal pole.. lightweight good handling hull with yamaha power and reliability

FX-1 with widened tray area, big pump, exact copy of stock hood (with plenum. tubes), tubbies (large). No rail mods....keep them narrow and keep the hull a carving hull, not a sheet of plywood (too stable).

Yep , I always thought the Fx1 had a good hood . Had one of the 1st Fx1s made and rode it for a year in 94 . It felt like a cadilac after riding 550s for 10 years

If another factory ski was produced I would like it to be a hybrid of a Superjet, SXR, Super freak, Rickter and a Matrix. It would have the best of each ski, but it would mainly be Superjet based. All internal components, engine, water box, and pump would be a Super jet layout, or in other words you could gut a superjet and bolt it right up to our new hull. Cosmetically, the hull would resemble the Matrix (which IMO is the best looking aftermarket hull to date) but it would have a few important changes. Below the bond line the bottom of the hull would resemble an 08 SJ without sponsons. There would be sponsons on it but they would be removable like destroyers. On the bottom, the strakes would be shallower than an 08, more similar in shape to a pre 08. The overall hull would be the same length as a SJ but on the bottom rear of the hull it would be approx 4" shorter but it would come with interchangeable bolt on extensions of varying sizes so different hull lengths could be achieved to each riders preference. On the front the hull would have a rockered nose like a Matrix or Ricker although it would have a bolt on removable front bond line . The pole bracket would be mounted forward like a Rickter. The hull itself would be filled with a similar foam as the SXR which will not absorb water or melt when expose to gas/oil. There would be no scupper, instead it would come with (2) 3/4" pipes on the bottom of each strake with a one ways like an SXR as they exit the hull. There would be 4 lines going through the bulk head to the pump not counting the steering cable line. (1 for trim, 1 for pump suction h20 removal and 2 for cooling lines) The tray would have all around footholds enabling it to be ridden in either goofy or regular foot stance. Thats about it. A hull like this would be the most versatile ski around and would cover just about any riders needs with exception to the super feather weight flat water BF guys. OK, there you go, go make it!
