Ok, this is going to be my first attempt at an FX..Hell, Ive never even ridden one before...

I picked this ski up at the January Daytona ride from a non-board member back around xmas for a pretty good (ok REALLY good) deal....Basically it came in boxes and I gotta give Ollie big props for storing this baby for me and dellivering it to daytona!!!!:woot:



Been kinda slow going on the process...#1 cuz im lazy when it comes to working on ski's, #2 we've been concentrating on getting rusty back to life first......



Here's a tentative mod list:
mild 61x with B mod + FPP waterbox
staggered footholds + front strap
brand new OEM steering cable
chopped about 3" off handlepole with Xmetal -2.5 steering plate + ODI's
twin attwoods + blowsion switch
Blowsion 1 way valve
1 layer 17 oz woven woven glass
1 layer blue/black carbon kevlar
dark grey hydroturf...might go marble, but havent decided yet
protec intake + ride plate
stock pump with solas 19/24 (i think)----waiting IMpatiently for blowsion 144 pump conversion
lim rope/hoodstraps blah blah
wetracer's billet hood latch

I weighed in the bare hull at 95 lbs...


Now, I do also have a minty Xmetal pole Im thinking about mounting up...but going to wait until its all up and together before I decide that..anyone ever use one on an FX???

the first couple of pix are from the day I brought her home....


she's got some scratches on her, but all in all the paint is ini pretty good shape...so we decied to just make her surf worthy and call it a day :sneaky:


the blue c/f should be here VERY soon...otherwise just need to finish glassing the holds and get some turf on her......Just got the word from Paul that I have a new heart being delivered next week or so so the timing is perfect!!!

nope, this is actually some blowsion stuff (dark grey, not light).....that I got about a year ago and decided to go ahead and use it

The X Metal Pole will work, but you will need to get a Superjet Steering Cable for it............., the shafts are different lengths............

just looked at this thread for the first time since april...damn im LAZY!!!

not too much progress except for the holds are glassed in, just have to do the nose and lay in the c/k...hopefully this week..maybe, we'll see.....just thinking about it is making me tired...

Well looking good, except for the whole taking months part. Should be a pretty mean machine when your done. That ski would probably look so sick with the X-metal pole. I think you should try it out. Is a paint job in this skis future?

no paint as of yet, the blue paint that came on it is in pretty decent shape for whats going to be a surf boat..

once the rails are turfed it will hid alot of the scratches, and I did replace the bracket and cleaned up the pole..




i'd totally go xmteal, but I already have a brand new OEM fx steering cable....I could change out the metal top part of the pole, but think im just gong to use what I got..


should be able to get the reinforcement done this weekend, then assemble my newest motor...other than that I have EVERYTHING I need in boxes in the shop..:biggthumpup:
