I want a WATERWORLD 550....Anyone

Anyone have a 550 out of the money waterworld? I love that movie and want one. What would a prop like that run me?

The ski actually ran when I first got it, but it smoked a lot and there was some gray oily crud coming out of the exhaust. (Maybe something they added to make it smoke more for the movie?)

willing to bet that most of them are on the middle lot at Universal in Hollywood. When i used to go backstage, i looked around there once and they had TONS of 550 and X2 hulls stacked up. Rumor has it Kawasaki even did a run of hulls specifically for the live show there.

i remember seeing a pole on e-bay about a year or so ago, from the movie waterworld. Just a 550 pole that was painted funny and has a goofy chinpad. It sold for more than i expected it to ( i dont remember how much ).

you can make a replica fairly easy. all you need to do is glue on some bolt heads, and random fiberglass pieces and then take a motorcycle tire and cut it for the front of the ski. thats how they do it for the Water World show. and for extra authenticity... dont take care of the engine or clean the engine bay.

(some of those skis are so clapped out!)

I saw a website where they still have a waterworld show somewhere. They have a sxr done up like the old 550's and have a guy in the pic jumping over a ramp. I just think it would be cool having a (smoker) jetski.

Mike Serlin (on here) either did or still does work as a stuntman in the show, and I think someone else too.

Actually they have several shows going. There is one in Hollywood, and i believe Orlando still has theirs.

I just got back from doing the one in Japan.

Also, they are putting shows in Dubai and Singapore coming up.

I wonder if Mike Serlin knows???? I think he used to do the waterworld jet ski stunt show IRCC.

the stunt show we saw in orlando was at mgm really cool but no skis, there was a large pool like moat w/ sopme skis floating in it but not part of the show. i saw 2 blasters sitting on a back lot

We saw that almost 2 years ago and they were still using the some skis. I think they were SeaDoo XP's then and not blasters. It really wasn't anything spectacular.

there was a 3-d in the moat but the show was pretty good mx jumps and car jumps w/ pecision driving

I will keep watching the ebay auctions, hope to find one. That would be cool to cruise the lake with a smoker...
