I don't know how you southern guys can miss a killer Ski season.

I am sending Resume's to San Diego this Spring.

We can have killer snow season.....it just doesn't stop us from surf riding. We dont' have to LIVE in that snow.

You are a math teacher right? You know that in San Diego, math teachers are ALWAYS in demand.

Snow is only a plane ride away

Snow is only 2-2.5 hours away for us. In winter, it's possible to hit some surf in the morning, and then cruise up to mt. high or big bear for a late afternoon/night sess on the mountain.

Man....so the stitches have kept me out of the water for two and a half weekends now.....and I'm going nuts. I feel like I've been off the water for months. I couldn't handle a whole winter with no riding.
Don't move to Alaska, you only get 6 months if your lucky. I just got word from family there,
It snowed a inch or two on Thursday, and now, Sunday morning, it is just dumping. The first real snow of the year. Yeah ! It Is Winter Now. I love it.

79,
I'm sending my resume out in April. Unfortunately 'Ahnold' cut a lot of Education money and English speaking teachers aren't really in demand. I moved out there once and was promised a job. They didn't tell me I needed to speak Espanol until I moved all my chit out there. I think that is when I met you.... I have been there a few times since then. Greatest place on earth. Too bad you can't ride up to the beaches like in Daytona.

I know you guys get killer skiing in Califonia. I would live at Big Bear. It is all Terrain parks and halfpipes.

That's not really true. English speaking teachers are just as much in demand. Speaking spanish, in almost any job is so cal is a plus, but normally not required. Were you trying to get a job in barrio logan or what? Seriously though, let me know where you hope to apply. We have lots of school districts out here....remember, I work at a high school. Send me a PM or whatever, I'll get you some more info about the district/school you are looking at.

I have to say....I've never ridden a snowmobile.....but damn does it look fun.

I grew up in Maine, so needless to say I was pretty much born with a snowmbile under me. FUN isnt a good enough word for it. Up there it was about 6 months of snowmobiling and 6 months of being on the water. The ocean was so firggin cold even in the summer I didnt want to be in it and the lakes are frozen for four months so snowmobiles are king. The accelration of a large engine sled is unreal. You NEED to try it, everyone does. Escpecially all of you southern jetski boys who have never been on one, if you can handle the cold weather. I just moved to the south and the snowmobiling days are pretty much gone, so now its just the Superjet and Dirtbike.

Yeah I'm on Norman. I have not yet because this is my first winter down here and right now my ski is in about 100 pieces. But I dont see why I wouldnt. One of my buddies from work rode his last weekend. He said it wasnt terrible, and he is from down here. So I am thinkin I could handle it. Its weird for me not to have the lake frozen right now.

Last time we went we flew into Manchester NH and spent the day driving up the coast, stopped in Portland and Oqunquit ( good surf there, but the rocky beach did not look too fun!!!!!!) on the way up.

That is a nice drive, the rocks are no fun at all. There are a few good sandy beaches along the way, but for the most part the rocks deter any good surf action. Lots of lobster though, if you like those nasty bottom feeders.

Next time you do that let me know. I bet you drove right by me when you were out here.

There is a sweet indoor go cart place near Portland now too.

If it wasn't for a trip or two to Daytona I don't think I could get through winter either. I had my days snowboarding and sledding but playing in the water is my favorite thing these days.

Hey, that was on my buddies borrowed ski! When Darin and I were coming in from the back set, you were just headed out...we were scared as hell for you out there solo and couldn’t get a line back out to get you. MUCH relief when we saw you headed back in!

Swan & Zach, you boys missed the 40 mph wind, hard rain, 19 footer ride on Monday. Hard to see what wave you had to run from next...it was a short ride.
