Ok,

Anyone have a spare Bendix? Should I just go buy a new battery now? What kind do you suggest? OR should I wait until I get a new starter and see if the battery will spin that? Could it be that the starter that I have now is worn and it takes alot more voltage to turn it(Like a car battery).

What your saying is that I should now, Take the Exhaust off and start getting to the starter? I don't have a flywheel puller so taking that cover off to get to the bendix now would be pointless....

Just went out again, and tried it off the car battery. After 1 spin the motor cranked...I think I need to go get a new battery and see if that is the problem...I am going to go measure the voltage of the ski battery right now.

dude, you dont need a starter.

you need clean connections and a GOOD battery, and PROBABLY to clean and lube your bendix.

If you want to you can call me later and I will step you thru it, I have cleaned and lubed bendix without pulling the flywheel.

that and some clean connections, and a fresh battery, and Ill bet you will be up and going.

That would be great man,

If I were to call you I think we could get this done pretty quick. I have never looked inside one of these motors, so I don't know what to expect. What am I going to need to use for lub/cleaning the bendix? I you would allow me to call you, I ll have everything ready to go including the wrenches, so I would not take up much of your time...I can also have a new battery later as well....Just let me know what I ll need

If only I had a beer full of fridge this problem would be non-existant. Mouth is a freaking king. We covered just about everything we could on this ski, and he still wants to work on it tommarrow:woot: Anywatys, we fixed the problem with the bendix:biggthumpup: and I think that we have concluded my battery is good:biggthumpup: The start stop switch is good:biggthumpup: The Relay is good:biggthumpup: It has got to be a wire going from the start connector into the ebox....we have to follow that red wire comming from the clear connector right? I am going to take some pics for the hell of it right now...I was wondering, Could I just run a new wire from the connecter, to the relay? and make it straight through? without all the connectors and shiz in the box? Oh, we blew two fuses and I gotta get more:smile:

Like I said on the phone, thanks so much for your help. I should pay you by the hour or something...I had to of used what 3 hours of your time? I think we almost have the problem bagged!

maybe someone else can help out here too.

everytime he installs a fuse in the Ebox, it blows.

not trying to start or anything.

I was trying to guide him to check for shorts on the red wires in the Ebox, but its HARD over the phone.

most components appear to working, and functional, I think there is a burnt, or rubbed hot wire to ground, or possibly a hot and ground wire corroded together somewhere.

You are welcome for the help man, you learn quick!

you were cracking me up talking about your mom wanting you to fix it so she can ride it, and THEN asking her where the tools are!

do some searchign in your spare time, here and pwctoday/SackBitersTech.com

do some searches for blown fuses, maybe there is a common thing that would help you find it?

ive never blown one, so I have no clue what else other than a physical short path to ground might cause it.

if hes not getting any continuity between the ground cluster in the ebox and the engine AND his fuse is blowing because its obvioulsy shorting to ground SOMEWHERE....

what are the chances that the 2 wires are melted together in the box?

pics would help fo sho.

possibly.

I think he learned a bit more about testing around tonight though, and we can get some better results now too.

Im happy to help him whenever I can, but I think he can probably relate some info better to us all here as well.

Here are some pictures.
One came out goodbecause the camera lense was starting to fog. I ll go get some more, be right back, I definately learned alot more, and how to use that meter. Also, before I get more, what would you guys like to see?

Correct,

The connecter that goes in as two and combines into one....One of the two that goes in comes from the outside, and one comes from the fuse, it leaves the connecter going to the rectifier I think you said. You can see in the pic how I have it unattached...You have the entrance to the fuse unattached.
