How should I adjust the MSD rev-limiter?

Losen the top bolt...using a flat head turn the rev limiter all the way open and tighten down bolt. It increases the rev limiter but does stop at like 7k

If it is a new one leave it on the factory setting. Which is like 8000 or 8500 rpm. Unless you have a motor that turns more rpm than that in the water.
