when i was racing MX, a buddy i rode with had a RN & another buddy had a 550 & 440, rode the RN, bought the 440, rode it like 2x's a year till couple years ago, when i bought my wife a 550 for valentine's day, then we both got hooked, then the square, then it became an obsession...

I got a decent one. My dad had standups when I was maybe 2-3 years old, but I barely remember that and then he sold them. I saw some competitions on the speed channel growing up and just knew I would love the sport. When I was 14 I bought my first 440 sight unseen and had my uncle bring it from lower MI to upper MI. In between the time I bought it and when he was bringing it up I rode my sisters friends race ready 750 sx, this was my first time on a ski, besides our old sea doo XP and other couches. So at 14 I rode a modded 750 and then a week later my 440 arrives, talk about crazy. Had that for a year then built and modded a 550 at 15-17 at 18 bought a SJ, at 19-20 I now have a freestyle ski and love the sport like I knew I would, may even start doing shows, I was supposed to to go Dubai for a month this winter but I got kicked off the list because they over hired by 2 ppl.

Some friend of my parents had a houseboat on a lake. I was about 12 years old and a guy there let me try to ride his standup. It was like 1986 and I don't remember what size Kawasaki it was. I coluldn't even stand up on it without falling off but I LOVED it!

I bought a 300 in high school and rode the hell out of it. Sold it cause I needed the money. Had a X-2 and a 440 and a 550 while in college. Had to sell it all because I had no time for it. Ten years later here I am buying a lake house and getting the superjet I always wanted. I'm addicted again.

In 96' I got a 95' polaris slt750. Ran it for about 4-5 years and then put a sbt engine (POS)... (before I knew any better....) and ran it for another year or so.

Then soon after I got my 2 waveblasters which I still have but am currently selling.

Next was my 2007 superjet that I bought at the end of July. See what I've been doing in my build thread in my signature below.

When I first got into it... it was just a fascination and has never stopped being one... I love how my possilbilities there are with the blaster and superjet as far as mods go. I also like the community that we have on here.

After I quit racing couches I was looking for something to keep me entertained while at the cottage. Bought a sxi pro off a buddy in '03, than sold it a year later and picked up a Sj. Been hooked ever since...wish I had done it sooner.

Put a friends ski (300???, never seen one before) in the back of the truck for 2 weeks vacation at an awesome remote beach. Couldn't get off it. Loved it and swore I'd eventually get one after I'd got a house near water.

Fifteen years later, 2000, after battling inflation, got the house, had my first child and bought my first ski (JS550) in the same year. 3 kids and 5 ski's later it's no less addictive.

I've been riding sit downs since I was little cuz my uncle has them then when I turned sixteen I bought a 550 and Ive been addicted ever since. I've owned 10 skis since then and currently have RN and Fx-1

I bought a 550 or 650(can't remember which) back in 1988 and rode it for one season. I sold it in 1990 and bought a 96 XP in 1995 and rode it for a few months. I started having kids and got out of it for a while then I bought a B1 in 2003. I had it for a while, sold it and bought a couch. I still wasn't satsfied so I bought another B1. I bought a 1990 Squarenose back in 2005 and have been hooked on standups ever since. I recently sold my couch and B1.

About 2 1/2 years ago I was surfing CL and saw a JS550 for $100, I was leary but ended up buying it. A little work and $5 in parts and it ran like a champ. Fast forward 2 1/2 years and I have bought 11 jetskis and ride at least every weekend rain, sleet, or snow! I guess you could say I'm addicted! Anyone know a local JA group (Jetskier's Anonymous)? Not that I want to be cured!

My brother and I rented JS300's when I was about 9, then at 12 I bought a Wetbike. Three seadoo's later I got a 550 and it was all down hill from there. Now I have 3 seadoo's 4 stand ups, and 1 X2.

I've always been interested in them.

Most noteworthy...

There was a hull at a friends house when I was 14 and I thought it was the coolest ever but everyone said "Those suck you have to lean 'n stuff don't waste your time". (so typical)

When I was like 16 I saw a video on the net of a flatwater freestyler and again I said "omg that's the coolest ever". So I looked up the guy and his ski was 20,000 and I thought "man, I could never afford that sport.

Then finally last year I saw someone on the lake and I said "OMG I've ALWAYS wanted to do that" so I looked again and found my 650SX for $800 and now good money after bad has fallen out of my pocket into the sport.

Yay.

Rode a few rentals in the mid eighties down the shore in NJ. Fast forward to nine years ago, my wife friend had two JS 550 and talking to her she said they were sitting there because she didn’t know how to take care of them. An agreement was made that I would get them up and running and she could use them whenever she wanted. We have been great friend ever since, my wife now has an XP and some time next year we should be getting another couch and a super jet. The last 4 years I have become very addicted to the sport and I should have done this 20 years sooner. :Banane09:
