I recall yamaslut used 25 mm HT underpadding with great results (better then OEM), not sure what the longevity has been like, you'll have to ask him

we had a good thread going for a while about alternative hood seals to OEM.

im sure a search would find it.

I had contacted a few companies about some seal material samples, none ever sent me the samples that the said they would.

i think im either gonna call up the company in florida tomorrow and check out prices they sell u channel as well so that would be great for the hood and the v groove stuff for the ski side.

the mcmaster car stuff is pretty cheap and mark44 said he liked it and it has worked well. so i might get a roll of that if the other company doesn't come through

I just got the jss seal and I dont really like it, Im in the process of putting the hood hooks on my slutty mod square hood and if I want it really tight I cant wedge the hood under the hooks on the ski, otherwise it seems too loose. I guess thats why Im using hood straps as well. I want to put a strip of diamond HT on top of his but that might be dumb.

I just pulled a jss sponge off my ski and threw on a stocker . That jss sponge absorbed water and transfered it into the engine compartment .Good thing I had outerwears because the carbs sucked the water off the sponge .
