Home made footholds and limiting rope

So i am going to make my own limiting rope and foot holds. Just wondering if anyone can measure their foot holds and tell me apx how deep they are into the side of the ski and also, how long is the bungie from the hood latch to the hadle pole?

Thanx-

we customed my footholds, and they go all the way out to the sides of the ski. not sure on any measurements we kinda winged it and i like um. wish i could take them out and put them in my sj when i get it.

I always wondered if I could put an old pair of shoes on, and wrap from my toes to ankle with sarran wrap and just pour fiberglasses over it to make some custom footholds.....

I might give this a try.

i agree...

you have to remember that the padding + turf is gonna take up about 3/4 of an inch (maybe more if you use thicker padding) and thats just on the bottom. then subtract for the turf on the top of the foothold too.

i am planning on making my own molds so i was thinking that they should be about 3 inches deep maybe?

...and the other problem is i dont know how far down the tray on the right side till i will run into the exhaust tube. maybe 12 inches or so????

anyone got a ski apart that knows?????

i have some free time and i like trying to come up with different ideas for new parts, etc. i toy around with a LOT of ideas.

Thats why I wanted to mold my feet with a shoe on, since I ride with wet suit boots that are much thinner.
Anyway, that was just a plan of mine and I know there is much more to it, but one day I will get something similar done....

I also thought about using an old cast from someone who broke their foot. Then you have a negative mold to work with.

well, you would have to fill in the areas where the laces would dip in. maybe with clay or something. if they are an old pair it wouldnt matter. once you did that you could lay it on its side and then mold it half way that way you can pull it out in once piece. i say go for it! what do you have to lose.... nothin!

That's what I figured, nothing to lose but time. And this would be good experience and good project to try and forget that the water is frozen 12' deep during 4 months over here.
